96 Chev PU Leaking water from intake manifold??06 Jul 2005 23:33 GMT5
4.2 V6 - 160,000 miles. It has been losing water for a while and I
finally found what I think it is - it appears that water is leaking
from between intake manifold and block at left front of engine (behind
alternator, of course). There is no water in oil. Is it safe to keep
Are cotton air-filters the only type of filters with good air-flow?06 Jul 2005 21:51 GMT8
By any chance, are there air-filters that allow good air-flow;
exceeding the performance of cotton air-filters?
Any air-filters that incorporate electrostatic filtration?
Thanks

Changing a tire... Not "pull the flat off and put the spare on", I mean
"take the old tire off the rim and put a new one on."
The guys at the shop with their umpty-hundred (or more) dollar machines
make it look *SO* easy...

'91 F-250 Steering Column06 Jul 2005 12:23 GMT3
I have a Ford Truck, broken actuator assembly for the ignition switch.
I bought a new one, but cannot for the life of me figure out how this
thing goes in.  This is a tilt steering beast (that never tilted
before) and it looks like the tilt mechanism should come apart from the

Are all oxygen sensors equal?06 Jul 2005 08:42 GMT14
For the same number of wires, are all oxy sensors the same? I'm looking to
replace these in my two trucks, and AFAIK both use 4-wire type (Isuzu
Trooper 98 & Dodge Durango 99). Can I just go with generic 4-wire sensors
and assume they will work fine in both applications?
Wheel Cylinder Fluid Pipe which Measurement?06 Jul 2005 05:27 GMT2
On a wheel cylinder brake fluid line pipe
is it the inner measurement or the outer
measurement you use to get a replacement
pipe. I measured my outer measurement and
Dead Toyota won't budge06 Jul 2005 03:28 GMT14
Hi, I have a 1985 Corolla LE that has been unoperational for about 2-1/2
years now, due to a fuel delivery/carburetor problem most likely. It has
been sitting in my driveway all this time (dirt and grass). I intend to get
it operational sometime this summer, hopefully. But for ...
Expansion Valve Adjustment on Dodge Van After Switching to R-134a06 Jul 2005 02:25 GMT4
This past weekend I converted my '84 B250 Dodge Van from R-12 to
R-134a.  I rebuilt the compressor using R-134a compatible seals,
replaced the receiver/dryer, changed the oil, installed the proper
fittings, pulled a vacuum, etc.  I used 75% (by weight) of the regular

SERVICE MANUAL $30!!!  - I KNOW WHERE TO GET!05 Jul 2005 05:58 GMT1
I never believe if something $200-300 is sold for $25 on EBAY, must be a
hoax, but several months ago I got 2004 Nissan Sentra service manual and
never touched until today.
Well, I touched it really hard today - turned out to be GENUINE real
