Nova not firing after engine gets warm30 Jul 2005 13:28 GMT5
Car cranks and runs perfect when the engine is cold. If you shut the engine
off and try to immediately crank it, no problem cranks and runs fine BUT,
if you let it sit for 15 minutes or so after shutting the engine off the
engine will not fire at all until completely cold again. I ...

Air conditioning system - what is its BTU power ?30 Jul 2005 08:01 GMT13
Romm air conditioners are rated in amount of heat they can suck out
of the room measured in BTU/hour. I wonder, if you compare room A/C
units to car units - how much stronger the car unit has to be ?
Do you know what is an average BTU/hour for a car A/C system?

Hi a buddy brought me his 1996 Deville since the parking brake will
not release when placed in gear as it is designed to do. In order to
release the parking brake, you need to pull the manual release just
above the parking brake lever. The shift brake interlock and brake

Rotating disc brake pads29 Jul 2005 04:15 GMT8
Is it advisable to switch pads from the left to the right wheel to even out
wear. The pads are worn 1/4" on one side and approx 1/8 on the other.
Options on mini car-lifts?28 Jul 2005 23:29 GMT2
I could lift my land rover by about 3 to 4 feet in my garage before it
hits the ceiling, and my other car probably enough to walk under. I
don't really want a permanent 2 post lift, as its nice to just drive in
straight for most of the time.

idling with AC on28 Jul 2005 22:17 GMT6
I used to think idling (maybe more than 5 min) was bad for engine, but
then I read elsewhere that it's no worse than driving.   I think i read
that idling with AC on puts alot of stress on the engine.  Is this
true?  Should I turn off the AC if idling for more than 5 minutes?  I
How to become do-yourself-mechanic28 Jul 2005 18:39 GMT22
Once my mechanic ask me, what will you do if your car stop running? My
answer was, I will call AAA.

obd code p045328 Jul 2005 17:39 GMT1
Can changing to a high flow air filter cause this code to trigger? If not,
what should I be looking or testing for to solve this problem? It's
occurring on a 2003 Buick Rendezvous CXL with 53000 miles.
1987 Toyota minivan: the driver's door handle isn't working28 Jul 2005 14:51 GMT3
I've got a 1987 Toyota minivan (they called them "vans" back then).
Recently the driver's door handle began to only work intermittently.  I am
afraid that it will stop working all together.
What's the problem with it and what can be done about it?
Electrically dead!28 Jul 2005 05:55 GMT7
Went out to start the ol' trusty '87 626 this morning, and when I turned the
key, the starter "hit" and then immediately the electrical system went dead.

This afternoon I checked the battery voltage (12.6 v).  Battery cells have
