Oldsmobile Silhouette 4t60e rebuild28 Jul 2005 01:37 GMT4
I just had the unfortunate experience of having the transmission on my
1997 Oldsmobile Silhouette go out at 96k miles.  For the last 2-3
months, it had shown signs of trouble (short delays engaging into
gear), but no slipping.  The local transmission shop did a full fluid

1994 Chevy Cavalier Transmission Problem26 Jul 2005 20:50 GMT1
My car transmission sometimes malfunctions when the engine is hot.
Also 'Check Engine' light comes (code # 32 when scanned), but I am
not sure if they are related. I got transmission and EGR valve
replaced, but still I have both problems.
1995 Integra Radiator replacement26 Jul 2005 14:56 GMT4
I started noticing that my car seems to be losing
coolant these days, and I am seeing greenish deposits
on the outside of the radiator.  It looks like my
radiator is leaking, and going some google-ing, broken
Subaru headgasket question26 Jul 2005 02:16 GMT9
If the headgaskets are in fact blown, would the auto (96 OBW w/178 k
miles) overheat when reving at 4k with the AC on?  I just had my
running like that (not in "drive") and the temp gauge was at the 7
o'clock position.
Should I buy newer and repair or older and repair?26 Jul 2005 01:23 GMT2
I am thinking of buying a Chevy Astro, GMC or Chrysler or something
like it (don't care which minivan acutally, but I know I cannot afford
the foreign ones).
My question is if you think I should buy an older one with a V6 and fix
Chrysler engines26 Jul 2005 01:08 GMT21
In order not to prolong the warranty thread, I made a broad statement the
other day that
Chrysler had always made good dependable engines, to my knowledge.  I can't
remember

I was quoted about $700-750 for costs, including parts and labor for a 1996
v6 dohc mazda engine
in addition to timer belt, there is a tensioner and a couple smaller parts

tensioner for sert. belt needed??26 Jul 2005 00:29 GMT1
About 1000 miles ago (although that's more than a year because my truck
sits while I fly around the world) I was told (during a routine oil
change) by my
dodge dealer that I need a serp. belt for my dodge truck (about 80,000
air conditioner stopped on '98 Mercury Sable stationwagon- help?25 Jul 2005 18:57 GMT4
The air conditioner stopped working today in my 98 Mercury Sable
Stationwagon.  I checked vent and all other functions and they ceased
working too.  I checked both the interior and exterior fuses for the blower
or anything I could think of relating to the AC and they all check good.
Seized A/C compressor + power steering?25 Jul 2005 18:18 GMT1
I have a 1995 Mazda Protege.  I believe the A/C compressor is seized
and therefore the power steering isn't working because the compressor
runs a drivebelt that connects to the power steering pump. Is there any
way to bypass the A/C compressor or get that drive belt to the power
1998 Chevy Prism Engine problem25 Jul 2005 05:57 GMT5
My 1998 prizm seems to be having a problem. When I star the vehicle it
seems to be fine, when I turn on the lights, the engine stops. If I
have the AC on, the car will flux between 1000 and 3000 RPM. then die
again when lights are put on. If the lights are off and the AC is off,

no cold air, blower works.
I checked 25amp fuse and it is ok, I bought a refill kit and pressure reads
good. Also, this isn't the original compressor, I had it replace about 5
