A friend of mine told me that I couldn't sell my car without first
paying off my outstanding car loan to GMAC.  Is this true?
Thanks for any help,

How to Disable Car15 Jul 2005 02:39 GMT17
Is there a relatively easy way to disable the family car (2002 Honday
Odyssey) to prevent my kids from going joy-riding?  They're not
mechanically inclined, so I am sure they would not figure out what I
did.
Philadelphia mechanics15 Jul 2005 02:15 GMT2
My girlfriend lives in Philly and has a 1994 Ford Escort. It keeps
dying in the parking lot. The battery works because the door beepers
sound and it beeps when she inserts her keys.
This has happened to her twice. She's had Triple A tow it to a Ford
96 Nissan Sentra Coolant Consumption15 Jul 2005 01:29 GMT4
I have a 96 Sentra which is using about a quart of coolant every 150
miles!  There is no visible leak, no drip, no puddle.  But there is
sometimes a smell of antifreeze while the car is driven.  A mech told
me he noticed a sweet smell from the exhaust, but I do not notice it.

98 Cavalier Electrical Short... I need help please14 Jul 2005 21:25 GMT8
Can anyone help... I have a 1998 Chevy Cavalier 2.0 sedan, which has an
electrical short in the ignition system. I have had the recall done, I
have also had it in the shop twice. The mechanics can't seem to figure
it out. The Ignition fuse keeps blowing out on me. It always seems to
brake job on range rover14 Jul 2005 20:03 GMT1
My son has a 2000 Range Rover that needs brakes, but the local shop guy said
"whoa". Seems the air suspension requires specific handling before you can
jack it up and deal with the brakes. Any insight from those experienced with
these land yachts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Car noise, what's your verdict on this problem?14 Jul 2005 15:41 GMT3
My car makes a periodic noise as the wheel turns (around 25-70
miles/hour).  It's not metal creeking noise, but flapping sound.
Here are what some mechanics told me:
- One mechanic checked the car (lift it up and also do a drive test)

GM Passlock?14 Jul 2005 07:54 GMT3
I'm trying to figure out why the Security light comes on in my 98 Astro. It
starts fine and then after a few seconds the Security light in the dash
comes on solid. It doesn't appear to affect anything. If it kills the
engine and the light blinks, it evidently indicates a problem ...
Ashtray replacement or repair, 91 Ford Escort14 Jul 2005 01:55 GMT8
Re:  Ashtray for 91 Ford Escort Wagon
I inadvertently dropped the ashtray and broke the "rails" that allow it to
glide in and out of the slot on the dash.  I have gone to a lot of the used
parts websites, but ashtrays aren't a big item there and I haven't been able
