I'm a home mechanic/enthusiast looking for a good OBD-II tool to buy.  Most seem to be in the $100 range, so for now, that's my budget.
The vehicle it will be used on is a 1996 camaro z28.  I'm looking for something that will let me view sensor values as well as the standard ...
'97 Cavalier timing chain09 Aug 2005 22:16 GMT6
My daughter's '97 Cavalier, 2.2 4-cylinder (80,000 miles) quit running
Saturday; had it towed home.  The starter spins the engine over fine
but will not start.  Here's what I've checked so far:

heavy gas-soaked carb floats causing overrich condition?09 Aug 2005 14:51 GMT5
How often do carb floats get soaked with gas and heavy so that the fuel
level gets too high and the mixture gets too rich at highway speeds?
The floats are that kind of black or dark gray plastic like a very dense
foam that I believe was/is commonly used.  It looks like the same ...

cavalier+stall09 Aug 2005 01:52 GMT2
Have a 95 Chevy Cavalier.  Stick.  152,000 miles.  The thing is
stalling out.
In the begining, I was getting some hesitation around 40, 45 mile per
hour.  Then I noticed the same phenomenon in lower gears and it would
sealing a trans pan09 Aug 2005 01:17 GMT4
Have a recurring trans pan leak at the rear.  Fixed it 5 years ago when
filter was changed with a new pan gasket, no sealer, and its leaking again
now.  I guess it is leaking in that spot because the pan is a bit
warped.  Not a big problem since it is time to maintain it anyway now, ...
DRLs again09 Aug 2005 00:24 GMT25
In trying to find some documented data about DRL use, I went to the US
government websites.
This should avoid, to some extent, the Scandinavian opinion of these
systems.

Wheel Bearings or Warped Rotor Chevy Caprice08 Aug 2005 22:47 GMT3
Would bad wheel bearings possibly cause pulsing while braking?
At 40 mph with light braking I get a sharp wobble in the steering
wheel. At 30 mph and below I get a cyclic pulsing while braking, like a
warped rotor.
Fuel line removal and install08 Aug 2005 22:06 GMT3
I have a rubber fuel line under the car (93 Sundance) which is leaking
and I want to change it myself. However, one end of the hose is
fastened with a "quick connector" and the other end is fastened with
just a "crimped ferrule". How do I remove the crimped ferrule and how
