Is it possible to recover seats yourself? I have a 96 zz1 with stains
on the seats and would like to replace them. Can I do this myself and
it look good? They are captains chairs I believe.
pressure drop across air filter20 Aug 2005 14:41 GMT34
I would like to be able to measure the pressure drop caused by an air
filter.  Then I could compare different makes and models of filters, and
compare a new filter to a used one.
My air filter has a peculiar configuration that lets me put the open end
Issues With Extremely Low Milage Used Cars20 Aug 2005 10:51 GMT13
I have run across a '94 car with only 7000 actual miles. It is a widows
car that only drives a very short distance to the store and back. I
would guesse it is city miles. This is actual mileage (we know the
widow). The average usage is ~13 miles a week. I am not sure what kind
Washing cars.... had enough of crappy cheap hose brushes19 Aug 2005 20:07 GMT4
*sigh*
I'm on my 4th or 5th car brush now (the long type, with the attached
hose connector at the end). I love them, but they always seem to:

RE: hybrid operation19 Aug 2005 19:45 GMT3
The newbie has got a newbie question:
Are there any shops/garages out there that are converting regular cars
into hybrid cars? I imagine this could be an expensive operation, but
I'm wondering if  it even exists at all.
Overheated 2.5L Mazda19 Aug 2005 18:42 GMT6
I have a Mazda with 2.5L V6 engine.
I overheated the car so badly, it stalled as I was pulling into the
parking space. Upon examination, I found out that it needed a gallon of
radiator fluid and that it was leaking really badly from the water pump

How to find exhaust leaks?19 Aug 2005 16:00 GMT5
I suspect my exhaust has a small leak near the manifold. I can't smell
much or at all, but I'm hearing some exhaust clatter. The strange thing
is, it only happens when the car has been sitting for a few minutes, hot
or cold, then goes away after a few minutes of driving.
demo derby transmission failed19 Aug 2005 14:06 GMT8
Just finished getting beat to hell in the compact class.
I ran an 83 Chevy Cavalier 2.0 auto.  The body held up
absolutely great compared to the others.  I stopped
moving after some hard hits.  My left front tire was

Strength of Impact Wrench to Remove Caliper Bracket Bolts?19 Aug 2005 03:39 GMT8
Looks like I better buy an impact wrench since these caliper bracker
bolts don't want to come off (used PB, propane torch, etc).  I've
stripped nuts, broken tools, etc.  Basically, what do I need to get the
job done as far as specs go on the wrench if I go electric (as far as

Toyota Corolla 89 Losing Power/Fuel Smell18 Aug 2005 21:58 GMT3
My relative's mechanic is out of town for a while, and I know very
little about the maintenance of this hand me down manual shift car, but
recently, it's been losing power to the point that it's almost
undrivable. (And it's not a Turbo car). It starts off ok for a few
VW TDI engine swap-in18 Aug 2005 17:34 GMT2
Hey guys, ... got a question regarding a VW engine... I'm thinking of
swapping in a VW TDI engine into my '89 Hyundai Excel... is this even
feasible? What would it cost, and what engine would you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance.
Removed a/c fan belt 85 Caprice . OK?18 Aug 2005 13:14 GMT5
Seems like this will not cause any problems, but thought I'd ask
anyway....  I removed the fan belt from the "a/c compressor, power
steering pump, waterpump " circuit, since it was squealing and annoying
the neighbors. No more squealing.
