Parking Brake verses tranny's Park?18 Aug 2005 01:27 GMT14
Mechanic told me to never use the parking brake unless I like warped and
grabbing brakes.  Said just to use the Park on the trans. selector.
He said, aside from improperly torqued wheels, that the parking brake
applies to much localized heat to the drum or disk and creates a hard ...

94 Cutlass Supreme - whistles while driving18 Aug 2005 00:27 GMT11
I'm getting a whistling sound when driving in my '94 Cutlass with the 3100
V6.  It sounds like an air leak and I just can't find it.  I've pushed and
pulled on every air hose I can find with no results.  The whistling seems to
happen only when there's no throttle input after ...
Antitheft deterrent (ATD)  module for 90's Reatta and Riviera17 Aug 2005 23:31 GMT1
Is there anyone here who knows how this module really functions?
Passkey detector apparently activates this module which, when in protective
mode,
disables the starter solenoid function and also disables starting fuel
can mix different types of windsheild washer fluids?17 Aug 2005 16:15 GMT2
Could be a silly question :
Can we just top up the windshield washer reservoir with any type of washer
fluid, regardless what's currently in there?  In summer Wal-Mart sells the
type of washer good for removing bug bodies, in winter people mostly use
minimum rotor thickness17 Aug 2005 11:48 GMT1
Rear brakes: Minimum is .315 and mine are .300  What are the risks of just
changing the pads given that rear brakes take on a small portion of the
load?

Crankshaft damper / pulley bolt17 Aug 2005 07:04 GMT10
To get the crankshaft bolt loose on my Toyota pickup: Get two sturdy
pieces of angle iron long enough to fit from your crankshaft bolt to
the ground at a 45 degree angle (about 30" on my Toyota 4wd 3.0 V6
pickup). I used a piece of old bed frame cut with my skill saw and a $2

Ok, I just got my new crank-mounted oil pump.  It came with a blue paper
gasket instead of the factory o-rings (no gasket came off the old pump).  The
gasket goes all around the pump and also covers the o-ring slots around the
oil passages.

1980 ford hard no start16 Aug 2005 21:27 GMT2
Cannot start unless I pour 1-2 oz of gas down the carb, then it idles
and drives ok but will not restart after turning off. Choke fully opens from
almost closed

space, I don't know. Does such thing exist? I recently moved ...
