How often do you replace your fuel pump?27 Nov 2005 18:08 GMT18
I know this one person who work in the city, so he regularly replaces his
battery, alternator, and starter every year or so, before they need to be
replaced, just so he never breaks down. He says he has to drive through some
very dangerous neighborhoods.
GM 2.8L 60 degree V6: One Bad Lifter, Should I replace all of them?27 Nov 2005 17:32 GMT17
The engine is in an 1990 Isuzu Trooper II.
Removed all the hydralic lifters to track down the clattering noise,
and found the culprit. It was only one bad lifter out of twelve. The
others look perfect. The push rods look straight, and the rocker arms
More Tie Rod Problems27 Nov 2005 17:25 GMT15
I posted earlkier about replacing outer tie rods on my 85
Chevy Caprice.  I finally got the stud out of the control arm(?)  on
the passenger side, by using a "puller" tool.
"Hooray" I thought, "Now the hard part is over, and all I have to

I'm considering the purchase of a '90 Jeep Cherokee.  The vehicle has a
blown ABS pump.  About how much will the replacement of that run me?

My girlfriend's family has a Buick LeSabre. Vehicle starts up, system

traction - etc. shut off as they are supposed to shortly after car is
running). However, I rode with him for about 5 miles and the ABS system

The admittedly mediocre Fish carburetor25 Nov 2005 02:28 GMT4
Are these things still being made right now? Over the years there were
several production runs, often by  the militia-goofball contingent.

Well - the time has finally come to pass along the collection. I am not ever going to fit into several of the models and can't justify  most of the others on the home front. Would love see them find good  homes.

Aftermarket Gauge Question - Sizes?24 Nov 2005 17:23 GMT1
I need to replace the voltmeter and oil pressure gagues in my '85 CJ-7,
and don't want to order up the wrong gauges.  I meaure the cutout to be
2", and lots of gauges are spec'd. out as either 2" or 2 1/16".  Are
they the same thing?  does the 2 1/6" size add in the bezel, therefore
Need a hitch-mounted loading lift...24 Nov 2005 06:36 GMT24
I often have to lift large logs (2' round oaks, 2' long) into the back
of my land rover. Currently I step them up on progressively taller
logs, but it would be great if I had a platform that I could lower to
the ground, and then lever up to the height of my cargo load! Any
Is this statement true?24 Nov 2005 02:58 GMT24
A professional mechanic once posted in another forum that if your car is
well maintained by a competent mechanic who maintains his education, it
should NEVER break down without warning, leaving you stranded.
Is this statement true?

Airbag deploying, can this be for real?23 Nov 2005 15:19 GMT22
Is this clip for real or is it just skillful editing? It looks genuine,
but surely it can't be that easy to deploy an airbag.
