Failed SMOG, now what???21 Nov 2005 16:48 GMT12
Hi, I am trying to sell my 1992 Toyota Tercel, it runs good but has
200k miles on it.
I failed the smog test and now I don't know what to do.
The emission problem could be o2 sensor, catalytic converter or EGR
Is My Electrical Diagnosis Correct?21 Nov 2005 14:28 GMT14
Hi, I have five questions (below). Both the blower motor and radiator fan
for my '91 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 liter no longer work, even though I replaced
both motors last week. The 25 amp AC/Heater fuse blows every time as soon as
I turn the key to "run" with the heater on. I must ...
Fuel Lines: Does this sound right?21 Nov 2005 12:29 GMT7
Sorry to post yet again today, but my car needs a lot of help. :)
I went to measure the outside diameter of my three fuel lines today with a
1" micrometer. At least one line is leaking. They are all very rusty near
the rear. I need to replace about 60" worth of each line.
Opinion Poll: Which Engine is the Easiest to Repair?21 Nov 2005 08:02 GMT64
I would like to have your opinions on this subject. The following
criteria should be taken into consideration regarding your answer:
o Only engines within the last 50 years
o Give preference to engines that get good MPG (v8's do sometimes!)
91 Olds, Cold kill enigine when in gear21 Nov 2005 05:34 GMT1
This summer, we had the transmission fixed because it would not down shift
correctly.  It was a value in the transmission, which this group identified,
thanks.  However, these cold mornings now, we have noticed that when the
vehicle is cold, shifting from Park to Drive, will kill ...
electronic ignition21 Nov 2005 01:31 GMT3
My understanding is that an electronic ignition uses a transistor
(ignition module), signal from the camshaft sensor (or pickup coil) and
ECM to pulse the negative side of the coil on and off.  If this is the
case, how come so many automotive repair manuals and text books
ATF Exchange: Would my idea work?20 Nov 2005 20:12 GMT6
I want to do an ATF exchange, rather than just a drain, change
filter/gasket, and refill. Would this idea work:
1) Disconnect tranny outgoing line to radiator
2) Insert funnel into dipstick opening
91 Toyota Camry: Is this an EGR valve problem??20 Nov 2005 19:52 GMT1
I have a 91 Toyota Camry LE with 180k miles on it.  It has 6 cylinders
and is automatic transmission.   Recently, I have found that after
running the car for about 40 minutes or so, it will begin to idle
roughly at stops.  At first, I thought that perhaps it was because I

my transmission is ailing and its making me sooooo sad!20 Nov 2005 19:12 GMT7
this morning the wife was off in the car to take the kids to the
grocery store when mysteriously she returned to the bedroom where i lay
sleeping.  she reported that the car was
"jerking" into R and D and did not seem to be catching the gear that

Does anyone know where the ABS accumulator is located on a 1995 3.3
Intrepid?
Thanks,
Carl
Ford Focus:Rough Idle20 Nov 2005 00:28 GMT3
I have a Canadian 2000 Focus SE with Zetec engine and manual transmission.
It has 130,000 km (~81,000 miles) on the odometer.
The car has a rough idle. The problem got temporarily worse after an oil
leak was fixed that required changing the timing belt. But the condition
O2 light still on20 Nov 2005 00:16 GMT3
I have a 1991 isuzu with just under 98,000 miles and a sensor light
that won't go off even though I changed the sensor before and after the
Catalatic Converter. Any hints on how to get the light to go off?  I would
greatly appreciate it
97 Neon fast idel until car stops?19 Nov 2005 14:43 GMT3
Anyone have this? After warm-up car will do 40 mph without depressing gas
pedal. If I put it in neutral, it revs very high until the car is stopped
then returns to normal idle. There are no sticky linkage probs.(seems
electrical).
