| American Cars | 16 Nov 2005 01:46 GMT | 10 |
I went to the Ford dealer today to look at the new Ford Fusion. Reading the window sticker revealed that the car was built with 30% parts sourced from Canada and the USA. The Transmisson was made in Japan and the car was built in Hermasillo Mexico,

| Will it harm anything to run an extra 150 watts off a 55A alternator? | 16 Nov 2005 01:38 GMT | 13 |
I have a 1985 Corolla SR5, 217,000 miles. Car runs well, no problems. I put a pair of auxiliary driving lights on it and use them primarily during the day as DRLs because I have the pop-up headlights. However, they do help a lot at night too, but was concerned that I would be

| Jeep Wrangler | 16 Nov 2005 01:02 GMT | 2 |
I have a 1995 Jeep wrangler, the washer motor, I thought burned out, but it wasn't. I test for power on the wires and I get the 12 volts needed. when I put on the new motor it doesn't handle the load for some reason, and the motor doesn't work. I take off the connectors and test ...

I will eventually need to replace the converter in my 2000 Accord with the 23A4 engine, which is a ULEV model. The car has 145,000 miles on it, and the media is coming apart inside and rattling. Searching the online parts sources, converters for the standard motor are readily ...

| Oil filer: I just realized... | 15 Nov 2005 22:04 GMT | 18 |
... my GM shop manual specifies a torque of 13 lb. ft. for the oil filer. But for the last 25 oil changes I have done, I have never torqued the filter. I just simply screwed it on 3/4 to 1 full turn after the gasket made contact with the mating surface.

| Draining Gas Tank? | 15 Nov 2005 21:06 GMT | 5 |
I need to drain the tank on my 93 Ford Ranger so I can repair a crack in it (or try to repair it, anyway). It has no drain plug and I haven't had much luck siphoning the gas out. It's a bit less than half full, about 10 gals. Any ideas how to drain it? Can I open the fuel line ...

| Fuel pump whistles | 15 Nov 2005 17:30 GMT | 8 |
When I turn my key on (but don't crank the engine), I get a 5-second whistling noise from my fuel pump. (At least that's what I assume the noise is coming from, it's in the right area and I don't know what else might make the noise). The noise resumes when the engine starts

| Source For LED Panels (See Design) | 15 Nov 2005 04:02 GMT | 47 |
I've got a 1971 Ford LTD Convertible. These cars have eight 1157 style bulbs in the rear to give full width tail and brake lights. That's a LOT of current going through 30+ year old wiring, switches, and corroded sockets when you hit the brakes.

| No Drive at All Ranges (zero line pressure) | 15 Nov 2005 03:34 GMT | 10 |
Hi I have a 4L60E of a 94 Chevy with no drive at all ranges. Before this happened, there seem to be some problem with downshifting, and I had to manually shift it to lower gears in order to get a good acceleration from a stop. This had been going on for about a month or

| Replacing Tie Rod Ends Caprice | 14 Nov 2005 20:32 GMT | 11 |
I need to replace both tie rod ends on my 85 chevy caprice. It looks like there will be no load on the tie rods and I can just crawl under the car and take them off without anything self-destructing. Do I need to jack the car up?

| Tire Pressure (How low can I go?) | 14 Nov 2005 19:10 GMT | 7 |
"Inherited" my father-in-law's old truck. He bought himself a new one and we got a great deal as long as we let him borrow it to haul firewood. We bug him because this truck was a real work truck and now his new truck is too nice to get dirty. :)
