Good morning:
I need to take my olds from Tucson to Dallas, but the car has been run once
since about 1994.  That was when I put it on a trailer to bring it to
Tucson.  It took about twelve quarts of transmission fluid to get it to

at the low end of the RPM's, but no loss at he upper end of the RPM
Popular Mechanics26 Dec 2005 14:19 GMT9
I picked up a copy of Popular Mechanics on the newsstand today, and in
scanning it,
I read through the automotive questions letters.
On at least three of the questions, I swear that I have seen the identical

I have a 1986 Mazda 323 (fuel injected).  I was driving back home
the other day when the electronics started to go.  The radio started
cutting in and out, and eventually faded to static.  Next the
tachometer would slowly drop down toward 0, but then catch again (just
Wiring help needed, 93 Dodge Shadow26 Dec 2005 05:28 GMT5
Got the wife a remote start for Xmas. Found out I can get a T-harness
connector to make the install easier, but the website says it's only for
a 1994 Shadow. The harness plugs in between the ignition switch
connector. I'd like to avoid cutting wires if possible, so I need to
1997 dodge cravan sport tranny problem26 Dec 2005 02:07 GMT4
Yesterday, while driving, my caravan suddenly decided to quit on me.  I
was making a right hand turn and while slowing down, the vehicle seemed to
bog down as if to stall out.  After making the turn, the same thing occured
while giving it gas to speed up.  Well, it got so bad ...
Auto Tranny Planetary Gear??25 Dec 2005 13:59 GMT4
I have a machine shop project that requires a Planetary Gear for a gear
reduction. Although I could build it from 'off-the-shelf' gears, it would be
much more cost effective if I just used something like those in automatic
transmissions.
Help interpreting weird Goodyear tire size?25 Dec 2005 09:21 GMT4
I have a 99 Dodge Durango and need to replace the tires, but the Goodyears
on the vehicle now are marked "31x10.5R15LT".  Evidently this is an optional
tire size, the standard for this model being 235/75R15.
I understand the latter nomenclature; 235mm width, 75% of that for ...
A bit OT: Oxy/Acetylene rig question24 Dec 2005 22:53 GMT8
This is a bit off topic, but I figured someone here would know the
answer.  A neighbor has a 20 year old oxy acetylene welding setup I'm
interested in buying, but I don't know much about these and a I want to
make sure the tanks, regulators etc. are not obsolete (eg, they haven't
gluing weatherstrip together?24 Dec 2005 15:24 GMT7
below is a copy of a post to alt.autos.studebaker - any ideas how to
successfully glue pieces of weatherstrip together?  The problem is that
for the car I'm working on ('55 Stude coupe) trunk weatherstrip with
molded corners hasn't been available for years, if it ever was, so I'm ...
low break pedal, non-working parking break - self-adjusters not working?24 Dec 2005 12:32 GMT13
This is about a Mazda 626 '91.
What I realized recently is that the break pedal has to be pressed
quite low to work. In addition, the parking break pretty much does not
break at all anymore.

I've got an 84 Pontiac Firebird (garage queen with 130k mi) that has

its' pretty much had it for years now. I've recently performed a tuneup
