I am helping out on putting together a V8 350 engine in a truck. I can't find the timing specification (8 degrees BTDC???) for this engine/truck. It has HEI and no vaccuum port on the dizzy. Plus, any trick on installing the distributor? I think we have it

replaced radiator, radiator cap and thermostat. still over heating. fan works fine. temp gauge is midway to top and always moving. ready to shoot it. clean oil and water, 180 psi in all cylinders. any help would be apreciated

Working on carb problems and in reading a common comment is you need to enlarge jets if you change to a larger cam (higher lift and longer duration). Since the carb just mixes fuel with air as is passes by, why would you need to add more fuel just because of how long the valve is ...

I was wondering about a self destruct system for a car that would be used to transport sensitive documents or items that could cause serious problems if they fall into the wrong hands. Sort of like the ability to scuttle a ship when it's being taken over and there's no hope.

Last week I reported a problem with a 98 Pontiac Grand Am that is starting to repeat itself. It's a V6 with ~ 115K miles on it. The problem was as the car was pulling out of a parking lot, the check engine, brake and ABS lights all came on.

My 2002 Taurus front defroster is not working. The blower motor is strong, but no air is hitting the inside windshield. I sprayed contact cleaner on the controller switch which did not help. I tried looking under the dash but I can not locate the air flow diverter. Any ideas?
