Focus mirror question14 Feb 2006 03:11 GMT1
I've got a 2000 Canadian Ford Focus. The little dear has never read Consumer
Reports, so doesn't know it's not supposed to be the best car I've owned in
decades, and which I plan to keep for some time yet. But there is one minor
problem. The inside rear view mirror is starting to ...
2 snow tires on FWD car go on front or back?14 Feb 2006 02:53 GMT22
If I replace only two tires of a FWD car with snow tires, should they go in
front or back? The other tires are all season tires.
I used to think they should go in front, because braking, steering, and
acceleration all use the front wheels. However, a friend went to a tire

Assuming the coolant level is fine, what would cause the heater to only
put out hot air at highway speeds? This is a 1990 3.1 L Chevy with 200
+ thousand miles on it.
I replaced the heater core 9 months ago, the radiator was done this

testing for diesel in gasoline.13 Feb 2006 22:36 GMT9
We have a suspicion that a car we are trying to get started may have
diesel in the gas.
Is there a simple way of telling? Some type of separation in a glass
perhaps, or maybe
Why are car alarm starter relay normally closed?13 Feb 2006 21:06 GMT3
Why are car alarm starter kill relay designed to be normally closed? It
would make practical sense to make the relay normally open because
when the crooks pull the alarm fuse or the alarm unit out of the car, the
car shouldn't be able to start. But in fact it's the opposite and ...

"new" engine doesn't start right?13 Feb 2006 19:53 GMT22
Had a 1995 Mits. Galant 5-speed with 133K miles on it.  A 2-year-old
balancer belt slipped somehow, got underneath the timing belt, and the
interference engine was trashed (valves bent, pistons damaged).  A local
garage with a good reputation found a used engine with 66K miles on ...

Driving on a flat?13 Feb 2006 16:40 GMT14
My situation is this...
I have 2 flats (same side) and 1 spare (which is also flat).  The
discount tire I need to get to is 3.9 miles.  Towing (since I'll need a
flatbed) is seeming to be in the $75-100 range.  What are the chances I
Aftermarket keyless entry draining battery13 Feb 2006 16:10 GMT2
I installed an aftermarket keyless entry in my '99 Accord and if I
don't drive for a few days the battery gets drained. I connected the
(+) wire of the keyless entry unit to a (+) lead from the battery and
the (-) wire of the unit to ground. Is this not right? Any thoughts
flat spot on tire13 Feb 2006 15:02 GMT12
A nail gave my RR tire a flat yesterday.  I have a road hazard warranty but
the dealer said he could do nothing because there was a single spot on the
tire, not more that about 5 inches in diameter, where the tread was
completely worn off.  The dealer said he had never seen anything ...
