I'm looking to move a transmission shop into the 21st century. Which shop
management software should I consider using? I have looked at LANKAR and
generally like it. Anyone familiar enough with it to state an opinion? If
not, what do you use and why? Is there something better, ...

I have a somewhat older car that's front bumper fell off. Someone was
turning a corner while I was parked and knocked it off. There is no
damage to the bumper or paint, it just needs to be put back on. I was
wondering if that is something I can do or do I need to go to a shop to
revving an engine to "warm it up"07 Mar 2006 20:28 GMT33
I recently had a discussion on this topic. I have heard that revving
the engine may do harm and does little to "warm" the car up. This is an
older car with an engine that has been modified. This guy revvs the
engine at the house and still seems to have trouble making it down his

Identify automobile by minor part numbers?07 Mar 2006 13:42 GMT2
My car was sidswiped last night about 04:30. Hit-and-run. I've done the
police report but I've also collected some pieces of the headlight and
turnsignal lens and reflector assembly that has what looks like an
entire part or molding number. I also have pieces of the headlight with

OBD-II Code Reader recommendation??07 Mar 2006 03:57 GMT5
I have a couple '80s vintage cars/trucks and just purchased a '98 F-150.
Until now I have survived without a code reader. The older vehicles with
computers allow you to read the codes by flashing the "service lite" or an
LED.

ford ranger battery light06 Mar 2006 22:05 GMT2
The battery light on my 1994 Ford Ranger has been lit up for about 2
years.  I can't seem to track down the problem.  I have had the
alternator and battery checked and fixed a tail light problem that I
had during that time but the light keeps shining.  It seems to start

95 Dodge Intrepid -- water pump repair, do I need to change the timing belt too?06 Mar 2006 17:32 GMT2
The water pump on my intrepid with 150K miles just failed last weekend.
Since it was a Satureday, I had it towed to a Monro Speedy shop
instead of my usual mechanic.  The shop replaced my water pump BUT they
did not change my timing belt.  I am puzzled as I thought the

I have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler with the 4.0 engine. It has 56,000 miles.
When starting the engine there is a loud rapid ticking noise that last until
the engine warms.
It only does this when  starting a cold engine but not every time, maybe 3

The fuel filter is easy to get to, on the front of the carburetor. It's a
