Why does vacuum leak causes backfire through carb06 Mar 2006 14:28 GMT8
Just curious but buddy had his 1988 Chevy pickup with throttle body injected
350 had it start backfiring through carb.  Found vac hose off.  Put it back
and seems to be OK now.  Why would this cause backfire through carb?

I have an old Mercedes and there is a small pinhole on the side of the gas
tank.  It must be pretty small because it only wets the surrounding area
(no dripping).  Can I use some epoxy to seal it from the outside?

'95 Taurus 165,000 mi. Lost all but Lo gear while driving. Can put it
in Dr & can accelerate from stop. Stays in Lo. When I let off gas,
coasts as if in neutral. Doesn't re-engage until RPM's pick up to match
the speed in Lo.

My 94 chevy 4.3 liter will run fine as long as I don't nail the
accelerator. When I feather the pedal, all is great but if I even go to
half throttle, she spits and sputters. I have changed the TPS(throttle
position sensor) and it is still doing the same. Please help.

I was investigating my problem of the squealy brake with excess
brake dust today, and when I took my brake pads out I saw that
one of them had a ridge on the very outside (about 1.5mm wide

been removed. All I have is the two seperate wire bundles.

I have a 2002 chev silverado with 100,000 km on it with the 4.8L and auto
trans. I consistantly get an average of 12.5 mpg. I still have original
spark plugs, air filter (filter vacuum gauge is still in green area) fuel
filter etc... The truck runs perfect so I see no need to start ...

Where the heck is this thing?  The aftermarket repair book shows a
picture of it on the 3.3 but it's not there on my car.  I've looked all
around and it is nowhere to be found.  It's supposed to be in front of
the first plug on the front left side.  Help heheh

I just purchased (at auction) a '98 F-150 Super Cab w/5.4L, 4wd and
automatic. 132K miles. Runs great and in excellent condition (aside from the
"smoker" previous owner).
Within a few miles I got a "Check Engine" light. Owners manual says to check
