Mythbusters test fuel mileage extenders.22 May 2006 09:41 GMT2
Anyone else watch that show? Thought it went about like most intelligent
auto folks figured it would. For folks who missed it they tested Acetone
added to the fuel, a "ultra high efficiency carb", adding magnets on the
fuel line, running a diesel on waste veggie oil and running a ...
Windstar 2002 trans problem22 May 2006 09:19 GMT3
Ford Windstar 2002 SE, has transmission cooler.
If more than 5 people in the car, on the highway on the small hills going
up, it turns off control-cruse and displays for few second "check
transmission" message.
Bio Performance fuel pill scam - really that many dumbasses in America?22 May 2006 02:27 GMT56
The local news has been running this story and some questions come to
mind.
I notice most of those shown at the local "rally" for this snake oil
MLM-Pyramid scheme seemed to be older folks. Are there really that many

1996 Nissan Altimima22 May 2006 00:15 GMT5
I spent over 700.00 just to get the engine to run smooth on my mothers
car.  A new engine does not catch fire 2 days after is has been
installed the fire started from the engine. Have you heard of an engine
catching on fire 2 days after being installed.
1986 Isuzu Trooper Crankshaft Bolt21 May 2006 22:46 GMT2
I've looked through a repair manual, checked on the web and still
wondering if this is a left hand or right hand thread bolt.  I've tried
a long breaker bar and impact wrench with no luck.  Am I turning it the
right way?  I've been treating it like a standard bolt, attempting to
What happened to Super Tech filters?  They're shorter...21 May 2006 20:53 GMT1
Bought a Super Tech ST16 oil filter for the Caravan last week.  Pulled
off the old one and... what gives??  The new filter is about 1/4"
shorter than the one I was replacing (also a Super Tech ST16, installed
last November).
Sirius satellite radio antenna install help needed21 May 2006 15:50 GMT5
I'm trying to install the magnetic antenna mount that came with my Sirius
satellite radio and I need to route the thin antenna cable along the rear
window underneath the rubber molding. They say to use a plastic knife or
other blunt object to lift the rubber window molding and ...
starter problems21 May 2006 15:23 GMT5
I have a 69 ford 302 that i recently rebuilt, and i just put it back
into the car. I had it all assembled and ready to go, but i couldnt
turn the engine over by hand wiht a breaker bar, or with the starter
motor itself. I then oiled the cylinder walls (for rust), but it still
Annoying noise from under the hood during idling. What does it mean?21 May 2006 13:57 GMT14
I hear an annoying noise from under the hood whenever I am not pressing
the gas pedal. In Park, Neutral or Drive with the brakes on, I hear this
noise and as soon as I start pumping gas, it goes away. It is quite
annoying and I complained about it to the dealer when I did my 90K
1977 Mercedes 300D worth it?21 May 2006 07:03 GMT8
Hello all, I've been on a quest for a nice (but old and cheap) diesel
car for some time now.. Found a '77 300d for $900. Has 112,000 miles.
Problem is, the main drive belt is broke and the car has sat for almost
a year... What kind of problems would that cause? The belt is no
Will a slightly rusty gas tank cause engine damage?20 May 2006 23:48 GMT5
I recently bought a 1992 Kawasaki Ninja 250 to use for track days.
It's in pretty good condition and only has about 3000 miles on it.
What I am worried about is that the gas tank was VERY rusty when I
bought it.  I spent hours cleaning it out by shaking it with various
Nissan Frontier 2002 Battery Fusible Link 80 amp20 May 2006 22:14 GMT1
I need to replace the battery 80 amp fusible link in my 2002 Nissan
Frontier, but it has to be accessed from below to disconnect the bolts
on the wires. How do I go about getting the fuse box apart to get to
the bolts? I know there are clips all around that have to be released,
Battery Condition Alert20 May 2006 19:30 GMT2
I have a Reatta that, seemingly under the best of conditions, draws a fair
amount of resting current.  Too darn many systems involved I guess.
I don't drive it that often, and yesterday after letting it sit for several
weeks, I found that the battery was flat.
Do TRANSMISSION "Stop-Leak" products work?20 May 2006 11:41 GMT8
Within the past year I had my transmission rebuilt by a friend of the
family and essentially got no kind of warranty or anything.  This
person has since moved out of the area.
My truck transmission works fine as far as shifting (automatic) and
