I didn't know whether this was a problem or not.
I have a 98 Nissan Altima

is this loud sound like air quickly escaping  coming from the engine.
1966 chevy engine oil leak fix plan20 Jul 2006 22:22 GMT8
I have a 1966 Chevy II with a 6 cylinder engine in it. The engine has
some small oil leaks that I want to correct. It's been over 30 years
since I last rebuilt an engine and I don't recall the details of that
effort. Of course good ol Dad was there then too. I'm most curious ...

How do I fix a broken shoulder strap on a 1990 Escort?20 Jul 2006 17:29 GMT11
I've got a 1990 Ford Escort, which isn't in really good condition.  (I've
had it only a couple of months and the former owner wasn't too careful with
it.)  Anyway, I've got to replace/fix the broken shoulder strap which is on
the driver's side.  (The passenger side works just ...
AOD for 1970 Cougar20 Jul 2006 14:53 GMT2
I think i know the answer but worth asking if I am wrong.  Will a
tranmission from a 1984 Mercury Grand Marquis (assuming a 302 but not sure
yet) fit a 1970 Cougar with 351c (currently an FMX tranny).  I assume not
but for $100 it's worth asking.
Any aftermarket performance add-ons/kits for Taurus?20 Jul 2006 11:22 GMT10
I just inherited (kind of) a V6 4-speed 2002 Ford Taurus.  Nice family
car for a family oriented driver.  However, I'm not a family oriented
driver.  I'm not content with just getting from point A to B.  I also like
to drive for the sake of the pleasure and satisfaction that ...

I have a strange issue with my z28, i usually have to try and start my

i found a way around it, i have to turn my ignition to A/C and off

Alternator short circuit20 Jul 2006 05:13 GMT3
I have a 1993 Volvo 240 Wagon. I tried to save some money by replacing
the alternator myself when the old one started acting up (battery
wouldn't charge any more, battery light glowing faintly).  But now that
I've installed the new one it seems that I can't figure out how to get
1986 Toyota pickup - sudden idle problems20 Jul 2006 02:41 GMT6
I was performing the 90K mile maintenance on my 1986 Toyota pickup, and
decided to run some Sea Foam through it just to be sure everything was
clean.  I poured about 1/4 of the can slowly into the carburetor of the
warmed up (and running) engine.  It then coughed, backfired through ...

R-12 Sight Glass question20 Jul 2006 00:52 GMT1
After sitting parked for a week, the a/c on my '93 infiniti g20 is
completely dead.  It blows warm.  The high and low pressure lines are
the same temperature - fairly hot.
My question is regarding the sight glass.  I wouldn't describe what
R134A help needed; 1998 Suburban.19 Jul 2006 22:03 GMT15
I have a 1998 Suburban with the 5.7L V8 engine.  My wife
has observed that the AC in this SUV is not quite as good
as my 1995 Blazer AC with a 4.3L V6 engine (it does very
well).  I bought the Suburban used, and had a mechanic
Help! 96 Mazda Check Engine Light19 Jul 2006 18:10 GMT5
My 96 Mazda Protege (89,000 miles) has a new idiot light to go with the
always-on rear defroster light.  It says "Check" and the little manual
calls it a "Malfunction Indicator Light" "Problem with engine
electrical system--consult Dealer."  Does anyone know if this is a

"Gary", "Stuart"19 Jul 2006 16:50 GMT3
Hello, I'm just wondering what the following paragraph means:
"My test car was fitted with a Stuart. The Stuart's ability to
accelerate and brake without causing my champagne to fall over was
remarkable, and in direct contrast to the Gary that was installed in
