I have a 5 speed '98 Impreza with the small 4 cyl engine. It has 2 split CV boots. Both inner next to the transaxle. I have the passenger side out to the point of popping it out of the axle and there is where I am having problems. It doesn't pop out like a

| 1993 Mazda Protege' has no spark? | 15 Aug 2006 18:24 GMT | 8 |
Took my 1993 Protege to a muffler shop for repair. The shop ended up replacing most of the old exhaust system, including a new cat and muffler. When they brought the vehicle off the hoist, it wouldn't start. Today I looked at it and it turns over fine, but I couldn't get

| Overheating problem | 15 Aug 2006 11:49 GMT | 6 |
Hi, I have a 2000 Daewoo Nubira, and it has an overheating problem. It overheats on the freeway, after about 10-15 miles of driving at sustained freeway speed. When exiting the freeway, the gauge creeps up another couple of notches when I come to a full stop, then cools down to 1/2 ...

| Engine seized? | 15 Aug 2006 11:47 GMT | 8 |
I have a 74 Chevy 350, with a TH350. Everything was working great, except I noticed a vacuum leak in the carb body. So I change the carb first thing the next week. Start the car real quick for a sanity check, then turned it right off to go grab my tools to set the idle.

Hey all, Car is a 1986 Honda CRX. Where should I start looking for trouble if pushing the A/C button does _nothing_? No increased idle, no condenser fan, and obviously no cooling. the only thing that happens is the little

I have a 1988 Volvo 740 GLE Wagon. It runs very rich. It does something like 18mpg or so in the city and around 23mpg or so on the highway. I changed the O2 sensor, the spark plugs are relatively new, the gas pressure regulator, the fuel filter. I have tried additives to clean

| Intermittent Oil Pressure only After Long Trips? | 14 Aug 2006 19:20 GMT | 4 |
I have a 2002 Ford Ranger that doesn't have a real oil pressure gauge - it has one of those "fake" gauges that always shows either zero or half scale. The oil pressure has always behaved normally (i.e. it's not zero :-) until a couple weeks ago when we took it for about a two

| 2002 VW Jetta won't start | 14 Aug 2006 16:28 GMT | 1 |
While pulling into my driveway a couple of days ago, our 2002 VW Jetta 1.8 Turbo--battery light came on, and then the car died. I initially thought the battery was dead, but have tried to jump it off to no avail. It almost acts as though it is in some type of security mode.

| Exhaust smoke after 5 minutes? | 14 Aug 2006 15:28 GMT | 2 |
I'm fixing up a '76 Chevy Malibu with a 350. Until a month ago, it had sat undriven for about 3 years. Before that, it would smoke a little at startup then would be fine. I figured it was valve seals. Recently I've unclogged the PCV valve, replaced/reconnected vacuum lines,
