Mazda Protege oil change question07 Sep 2006 19:39 GMT1
I have 2001 Mazda Protege with 2.0 liter engine. I want to start doing
my own oil changes on it, but wondering how difficult and messy it is.
What tools do I need - two ramps from Walmart would do I hope? What
size and type of a wrench for the drain plug? Will the oil flow nicely

Hello to the car orables.
I have a '96 Polo 1.4L, which keeps stalling when going from third to

when I'm driving and going down a gear, just from 3rd-2nd. If I drive

20 and 40 mph and i've had to brake very suddenly and very hard, the

airbag code for '99 Mazda Protege07 Sep 2006 00:45 GMT1
I'm getting intermitent airbag warning light together with passenger
airbag disabled light.
This happens only when there's someone sitting in the passenger seat.
This is the code I get: 4 long blinks followed by 8 short blinks.

I have following this grp a lot quite lately and found it
justifying to post my query here.. I am associated with a leading OEM

rather familiar problem right now - FUEL TANK CORROSION..
Subaru dropping out of gear07 Sep 2006 00:23 GMT6
Our '98 Legacy Outback Wagon (110,000 miles) has started to
occasionally drop
out of gear and into neutral. I'll just be driving along and Whoops! -
it's in neutral. I usually have to shift it back to neutral and into
Overheated & Ruined My Engine?07 Sep 2006 00:06 GMT5
My thermostat went bad and I drove the 2001 Suburban 1500 4WD until it
boiled, choked and stopped.  It started again, but now the ride is
rough.  Compression tests done..."in normal range", mechanic's say
"nothing wrong".  Yes there is, it is like riding on a gravel road.
Starter blues06 Sep 2006 22:49 GMT3
Hello.  I've been swapping out the old 305 carbureted engine in my '86
Trans Am to a 350.  I checked the block number on the 350 in a small
block Chevrolet engine book I have and found that it is a '76 block
that was supposedly used in trucks and high performance applications.
Removing 4WD hardware to make 2WD vehicle06 Sep 2006 20:41 GMT7
Hey all--
I'm considering getting a Ford Explorer for it's towing capabilities,
the one i'm looking at though is a 4WD vehicle and I doubt I'd ever use
the 4WD system.
Strange double-width tires on a semi?06 Sep 2006 19:45 GMT14
I recently saw a semi (tractor-trailer) with tires like I've never see
before.
They were similar to what you might see on the front axle of a cement
truck. Except these were even wider and they were on the *rear* axles.
'99 Mazda Protege pinging due to bad muffler?06 Sep 2006 19:13 GMT3
Engine is pinging a lot under load (climbing hill).
At the garage they replaced the air intake rubber hose since it was
leaking
but this didn't fix the pinging.
Stolen and totaled06 Sep 2006 18:28 GMT6
Since the brand of my car isn't on here, I figureed this was the best place
to post my question.  My car was stolen and totaled less than 100 yds from
where it was stolen. I don't know how much I can get from my insurance
company but I was told that it would be whatever the book ...
