97 Nissan Pickup...screwed up changing the battery05 Sep 2006 13:43 GMT7
Like an idiot,  I hooked the damn thing up backwards.  As soon as I
connected the negative wire..smoke poured out of where the positive
wire was hooked up.  After switching the battery around correctly,  the
starter wont work.    All of my electrical otherwise is working fine.
Replacement battery for Hyundai Sante Fe (2003)05 Sep 2006 11:46 GMT1
The stock (OEM) battery is type MF 68 AH (600 CCA), which isn't readily
available in the USA, and most battery companies don't list a
replacement battery.  The notable exception is Interstate, which
specifies type 24T.

Private Seller FMV: Edmunds vs Kelly Blue Book04 Sep 2006 22:04 GMT1

Book and the results for a private seller were quite different from
Rust in the rocker panel, best way to fix?04 Sep 2006 15:19 GMT7
My newly bought '90 BMW E34 failed the safety inspection because of,
among other things, a rusted rocker panel. What's the easiest and
cheapest way to get it to pass? I'm thinking about cutting a metal piece
and welding it over the holes, but I'm not sure that will be enough. I

Nissan Air Conditioner Problem - Works Fine When It Works04 Sep 2006 03:47 GMT4
I have a 2000 Nissan Altima and the A/C is starting to act up.  Some
times it will cool and some times it won't.   The coolant level is
fine.  There doesn't seem to be a problem with the switch.  I have
been told that it might be the air gap, trash in an expansion valve
dumb question: will OBD II tell me if the O2 sensors are wearing out?03 Sep 2006 22:59 GMT4
I don't know how smart the OBD II is on my 98 Surburban.  The car has
100K mi on it and the O2 sensors may well be original.  Before I think
about changing them, will the OBD II give me any indication that they
need to be replaced?  Car runs fine and passes smog, but as we all ...
2001 Chevrolet Venture mini van wipers03 Sep 2006 11:45 GMT1

What is wrong with them?
Tread depth and tire life03 Sep 2006 11:38 GMT3
Can anyone explain why all-terrain tires with deep treads don't last
significantly longer than car tires with relatively shallow treads? By the
time my A/T tires are getting old, they still have more apparent tread
depth than some new street tires. Is wear mostly about the ...
'95 Honda Civic doesn't crank when cold outside03 Sep 2006 08:48 GMT4
hello to all,
My '95 Honda Civic doesn't crank properly when it is

compression readings, cold vs. hot03 Sep 2006 03:31 GMT3
Can anyone tell me if it is normal to have widely varying compression
readings if you check a cold motor vs. a hot one?
This is an overhead valve pushrod motor with hydraulic lifters.
With the engine cold, readings vary from as low as 30 to as high as 140
Bravada fuel injection problem - running rich, but why?02 Sep 2006 18:49 GMT5
My 94 Bravada has a strange (to me) problem. A month or so ago, the PCM
indicated code 32 - EGR valve.  The idle was uneven and the car would
sometimes stall when stopped.  I tested the EGR valve, the position
sensor resistance was slightly out of spec when the valve was closed, ...
