Which oil in older car?27 Sep 2006 18:56 GMT26
I have a 1988 Ford 5.0 V8.  Owners manual calls for 5w30 oil.  The oil
change places want to use 10w 30.   A Ford dealership says they use 5W
20 on every car and that it makes no difference.
So far I have insisted on using the 5w30.  (The engine ticks when first
Chevy 2500 Front Wheel Bearing27 Sep 2006 16:00 GMT1
What is the proper way to adjust the front wheel bearings on a 1990
Chevy Silverado 2500 2 Wheel Drive?
roaring noise sounds like old hard tires ( but isn't )27 Sep 2006 15:33 GMT9
Just put on 4 new tires.  I had thought the roaring noise
was from the 8 year old tires, but it's still there.  If I'm going
30 mph and lightly apply the brakes the noise goes away.
So I'm thinking tranny.  But this morning at 60 on the freeway
Wheels Shimmy after 60 MPH27 Sep 2006 13:55 GMT27
This is the 2nd post for my car, and I posted seperately cause I
believe they are diiferent issues, though I may be wrong. Anyway, my
car, a 2003 Camry, starts to shimmy as soon as it hits 60 MPH. I have
taken it to get balanced (tried 2 places, to rule out a bad shop), yet
Mazda Protege Heater fan only works on high27 Sep 2006 08:33 GMT8
Can anyone help...my heater works fine if I turn the dial to level 4
but it seems that 1-3 levels do nothing.  I would have expected them
all to break if it was the fan, so is it likely the switch? or is it
possible that the motor can break on just some speeds?  any idea how
Engine won't warm up27 Sep 2006 05:12 GMT10
This sounds strange, but my car's engine won't heat up. I bought the car new
in 1994 and this problem started a couple years ago. It is a 1994 Corsica
with a 6-cylinder.
A couple winters ago the heater began putting out lukewarm air. I pulled the
Update to brake pedal losing tension26 Sep 2006 23:27 GMT3
A few days ago I posted a message stating the brake pedal in my '94 Chevy
S10 lost tension briefly and then went back to normal.
The advice was that either a brake pad sheared off or my brake master
cylinder was failing.
water leak under 2003 Honda Accord26 Sep 2006 17:53 GMT1
Hi, I have a 2003 Honda Accord and today I noticed water leaking under
the car between the driver's and passenger's seat.  The engine was hot
from driving but the water was cold with no color at all - it was plain
old water.  I drove over no puddles and I was not running the AC so ...
A groundhog took me out26 Sep 2006 17:51 GMT5
I was wondering if anyone could offer some insight into a
problem I am having with my 1986 F250 W/7.5 450. The engine may be from
a 1974.
I keep my F250 on my wildlife reserve during the summer. I

99 Cavalier26 Sep 2006 02:01 GMT4
Hi, I am not the best with cars so I am hear to ask questions. My
cavalier has a hard time starting. When it starts for a brief moment
the engine light will flash on and then i will hear a quick tick tick
and then it starts up no problem. Idles fine, doesn't stall. No noises
Primers25 Sep 2006 23:11 GMT6
Can you myth bust this?
A friend of mine says that leaving primer on a car doesn't prevent water
from getting into contact with the metal. He believes primer is porous?
Any comments?
Ford voltage leak is like mystery novel.  Please read.25 Sep 2006 22:49 GMT14
A couple months ago my '89 Thunderbird wouldn't start.  So it was towed
to
the dealership and was "fixed" by replacing the starter.  I was told
