I've posted a similar question in alt.autos.subaru, but I'm looking
for other experiences or tips.
The car is a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX with four almost new all-
season tires (Bridegstone Potenza RE960AS).  I've tried driving it

Hi, I drive 1996 Camry and the check engine sign got turned on.
I went to a local Toyota dealer shop and they told me
"Need EGR valve, Modulator and Vaccum switch valve $645.00"
Also they said if not fixed, it will damage Catalyst something...which

ok, i need help diagnosing and getting some price estimate on this.
its an 89 325i with 160k miles, straight six, 5 spd manual. shifts
fine toher gears, but accelerating and shifting into 3rd, itll pop
outta gear, it will only stay in gear if you hold it in for like 6

I've been having some problems with my brakes, and I asked my mechanic
if he would be willing to perform a "line-lock test" to help determine
the problem. A line-lock test involves clamping off each brake line to
keep brake fluid from flowing through. If all lines are clamped, the

I have a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2. When the heater is all the way up and it's
blowing out warm air, it still doesn't heat up the car. And the air is
just that. It's warm, not hot like almost every other car I have been in.
Also, the water temperature gauge thing on the dash never rises ...

I'm currently still working on the girlie's Corrado G60... reason for
current thrash is a bad noise from some belt driven accessory, combined
with copious amounts of oil throughout the intake piping, supercharger,
intercooler, etc.

My mechanic convinced me to do a full transmission service on my
Corolla 2001 with 80K miles. I know some places flush transmission
under pressure with special machine which is much better then just
drain and replace transmission fluid. My mechanic does not have this
