Compressor cycling fast10 Jun 2007 18:58 GMT8
Hi all,  I searched quite a few posts but could not find a match for
all my symptoms.  I have a 94 Chev silverado 350 and up until recently
was led to believe my A/C compressor was dead.  However, I got my
hands on a guage and measure very low preasure (<10 psi) in the
Increase brake performance10 Jun 2007 17:11 GMT15
I was at a race track this weekend for the first time with my '97 Camaro
Z28 (completely stock) and realized that my brakes need upgrading. In
short, trying to pass a Porsche 911 at the end of a long straight before
a tight 180-turn, going about 110 - 120 mph I lost almost all ...
Forcing an *up*shift in an automatic--mpgs10 Jun 2007 01:06 GMT36
Awl--
Most auto trannies readily allow you to downshift--ie, the gear will go no
higher than indicated.  No problem.
First Q:  How is a forced downshift accomplished, from both mechanical and
Wear in an auto transmission...10 Jun 2007 00:59 GMT38
Awl--
A mechanic once told me *not* to coast in neutral down long highway hills,
to eke out more mpgs, and then throw the car in drive, as I would sooner or
later lose my tranny.
antifreeze question09 Jun 2007 23:19 GMT2
Backstory: '99 Cavalier 2.2.  Coolant was low.  Then, very low.
Thinking it had a leak, and needing to drive it, I added straight water.
I drove it like that for a couple of weeks like that, and the water
level in the surge tank stayed the same.  (So, there's still a question
Trustworthy auto repair shops09 Jun 2007 21:32 GMT1
After all the bad experience I have had with unfair auto repair shops,
I can say that I have found a solution. The http://www.citycarrepair.com
website offers a short list of trustworthy repair shops all over the
USA.
my car roars09 Jun 2007 18:41 GMT2
I have a 1999 Honda Accord EX  five speed. It started roaring a bit
ago and everyone told me that I needed a new muffler. So I went to
have that done, and they told me that there was nothing wrong with it.
I took it to my mechanic and he said that maybe it was my tires. I got
'78 camaro going thru starters like they're going out of style09 Jun 2007 01:24 GMT6
So a few months back the starter in my '78 camaro died, and I replaced
it with a reman one from pep boys (lifetime guarantee, so it seemed
like a better deal than a Delco).  The second starter lasted just
under a month on a car that is only driven 2-3 days a week.  The third
Fuel gauge all over the place, please help08 Jun 2007 20:15 GMT3
I bought a Mazda B2200 truck last year. It has had a problem with the fuel
gauge since then. I asked the guy I bought it from and he said it was always
like that since he owned it also.
It is all over the place. It goes, high and low and in the middle regardless
