Wankel/rotary engine19 Jul 2007 18:10 GMT21
Awl--
How is it that Mazda wound up with that engine?
I'da thought that BMW, Audi, VW, MB would have developed it, since it was
apparently invented in germany.
Toyota A130 automatic transmission Qs...19 Jul 2007 11:12 GMT5
Ok, I'm tearing down a friend's A130 that was pulled due to a no drive
condition, and we're up to the part where we need to get the pinion
shaft out.  Now, the book hasn't arrived for this, yet, and we see
there's a nut on the shaft, and I'm curious - how the heck do I get this
'04 Aveo Oil Light19 Jul 2007 10:30 GMT6
Ok, my oil light came on and started blinking and then it just stayed
on. The oil level is fine. Could this be caused by my oil sending unit
or my oil pump? What do you think?:banghead:
Can't get brakes to bleed (1978 Chevy K10)19 Jul 2007 00:14 GMT2
I just rebuild the front end (ball joints, tie rods, bearings, etc)
including the calipers and rotors and put new rear wheel cylinders on
along with about 8 foot worth of rear brake line, rear brake hose and
a new master cylinder.
2005 Accord rear brakes18 Jul 2007 23:59 GMT3
My buddies '05 Accord has 65K on it and the back brakes started
squealing.  Looking through the rim I could see they were low.  So we
go to FLAPS to get F & R pads.  Fairly simple to change but what was
odd was that the inside rear pad on both sides was worn significantly
2002 F150 PU spark plug replacement question18 Jul 2007 23:23 GMT8
In looking at the engine, I'm getting the impression that changing these
plugs is gonna be a real chore.  Looks like I might have to remove the
fuel rail feeding the injectors and the rear 2 plugs are going to be
hard to get to even after the rail is out of the way.
Engine heat, hood vents18 Jul 2007 21:07 GMT4
Why do most cars not have any hood vents?   In the summer the temp under
the hood is very high.  (If you want proof, just raise the hood after a
summer trip)
Wouldn't it make more sense to design hood vents into every car?
oil or grease?18 Jul 2007 20:43 GMT9
I have a slightly off topic question but I think the expertise I need is in
this group. I am wondering whether to use oil or grease for a certain
problem. I have a tube of metal (with a square crossection with 1 1/2 inch
sides) that slides into another slightly larger tube and they ...
Black Disc on Wheel18 Jul 2007 05:43 GMT7
This maybe a stupid question, but recently I've noticed several
vehicles that have a black disc of some sort mounted on the outside of
the wheel. It's usually on the driver side front wheel. I'm just
curious what the disc is and what its purpose is. (And no I'm not
2005 accord rotors18 Jul 2007 03:45 GMT1
>From some reason I volunteered to put pads on my buddies 2005 accord.
If rotors are needed are they they kind that slip right off or the
pressed on type?
Ford 300 I-6 still having oil/rod issues18 Jul 2007 03:17 GMT4
apparently I can't crosspost between alt. and rec. newsgroups on
newsguy, so here's a copy of a post to alt.trucks.ford - any comments
appreciated

2000 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.0 L shocks/struts & swaybar kits17 Jul 2007 20:58 GMT1
what should this cost for both sides, parts and labor? ballpark is
great. Just having trouble nailing this down from my locals - getting
really various prices. $399 $700 and "Why are they replacing the
swaybars?"

1989 Mazda 626, unable to remove rear drums17 Jul 2007 03:12 GMT17
(This is a continuation of an earlier post. The repair manual (Haynes) and
on-line at Autozone says "On 323, 626 and MX-6, remove the backing plate
plug to increase the shoe clearance. If this does not make it easy to
remove the drum, loosen the parking brake lever adjustment nut or ...
Is my car salvaged?? URGENT17 Jul 2007 03:10 GMT26
Hello, I bought a car from a private party then I looked it up at
Carfax. It has a clean title but at the bottom of the report it said
sold at auction listed as salvage. No red flags just that statement. I
live in Arizona and that is where I bought it. It came from New
