1997 suburban 5.7 still will not accelerate properly at WOT when engine is hot06 Oct 2007 05:25 GMT4
I noticed that when I hold the throttle body open and peer in there
with a flash light that the passenger side seems dry and the drivers
side seems a bit oily wet. I was thinking that the fuel pressure
regulator or one of the hoses to the injectors is leaking. I put a
Replace A/C pulley bearing06 Oct 2007 05:23 GMT5
I've had a bearing-going-bad noise for a while and I've had a
difficult time finding the culprit.  So today I pulled the serpentine
belt and checked every pulley with a stethoscope.  Turns out it's the
A/C compressor's clutch pulley bearing - in addition to the slight
Changing rear struts on Lumina w/transverse spring?06 Oct 2007 01:38 GMT2
This is on a 1992 4-door Lumina sedan. The factory manual calls for a rather
large tool that fits across the whole spring to compress it when changing out
the rear struts. Has anyone replaced the struts, and do you really need the
special tool? Perhaps the spring is slack enough ...
bad transmisison - 2500 dollars05 Oct 2007 15:33 GMT5
I took my 98 civic to an authorized honda dealer. they read the code
P0730 - Incorrect gear ratio. Now they suggest replacing the
transmission for 2500 parts and labor.

Cost to replace valve cover gasket?04 Oct 2007 07:40 GMT7
I'm about at my wit's end here.  I'm currently on my 4th mechanic, and
am very worried he's going to go through the $900 I still have left,
and then some. Problem is: car doesn't start.
The first mechanic is a guy who just fixes cars in his driveway,

92 Suburban Low Oil Pressure/Engine Power03 Oct 2007 11:54 GMT3
I have a 1992 C1500 Suburban (4x2) with a 350 TBI engine. Has about
250k miles on it but well maintained. 3 year old tranny.
My Question:
Been having cooling problems. Found out radiator was plugged and over
AC stopped after radiator flush.02 Oct 2007 23:35 GMT1
1987 Lincoln Town Car.
Recently I flushed and replaced my cooling system fluid.  After I was
done the AC compressor would not come on.   It worked fine a few hours
before.    There is no current at the plug/wire that connects to the top
Puff of White Smoke, at speed02 Oct 2007 23:10 GMT5
Three times in the last two weeks I've been traveling down the freeway
at about 65 and my Geo Metro has sputtered and a puff of white smoke
has come out ( I presume ) the exhaust: I can see the "puff," which is
fairly substantial, in my rear-view mirror. The car seems to run fine
Does an oily under carriage indicate a serious problem?02 Oct 2007 19:01 GMT14
Today I found a used 92 Mercedes 500E that I am thinking about
buying.  My main concern is that the under side of the car has a large
oily stain between the front wheels.  Is oil on the under carriage
typical for used cars, or does this indicate a significant problem?
ODB-II EVAP valve function questions02 Oct 2007 14:12 GMT2
I'm reading some paper tutorials on the OBD-II EVAP system. These
particularly have to do with the "early" and "late" systems on Toyotas, but
I think my questions may be fairly generic to all systems.
There are several electric solenoid valves in the system:
Zero Interference Engine01 Oct 2007 21:15 GMT3
SWMBOs' Subaru managed to melt down one of the timing belt idlers this
past weekend. It's a 1997 Subaru Legacy with the 2.2L engine.
Upon removing the plastic cover I found that one idler (the one that is
toothed) was completely missing. There were also two very impressive
RONALDO'S COMEBACK01 Oct 2007 17:20 GMT4
Ronaldo is making a come back! i predict that Ronaldo is going to come
and dominate the competition this year with his bicycle kicks and
quick moves. Ronaldos shots our nearly unstoppable and you can't catch
him. Once he gets girls off his mind and remembers how to play the
Ping: Nate Nagel01 Oct 2007 16:52 GMT2
Hey Nate.  On 9-30, you made a reply: " There are conversions available,
how good they are I don't know.  Might want to check with Daniel Stern.
Stay away from "blue bulb" crap."  Where is Dan?  Haven't heard from him in
a while--and I miss his input, as he so often had other ...
