Any true Lemons?26 Nov 2007 16:03 GMT24
There seems to be lots of cars where one person could tell you the
horror stories of *theirs*, but compared to the hundreds of thousands
of other cars identical to it that soldiered on unfalteringly, it's
relatively easy to write it off as a single 'bad apple'.  Or owner

I have a 1988 Ford F-150 4x4 with the straight 6 (4.9L?) engine in it.
I have not had this truck very long at all, maybe two months.

Best way to remove window tint from rear window w/defroster?25 Nov 2007 15:48 GMT2
To remove tint from plain windows doesn't seem too hard, I find if I
slit the tint in about two or 3 inch strips I can peel the layers with
a razor without too much trouble. However, on the rear window with
defroster lines, what's your favorite way of doing it to avoid

Do politicians really think this about our california auto/mc taxes?24 Nov 2007 23:10 GMT14
Assemblyman Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, echoed Perata's sentiment, adding
that wiping out the increase in the fee has resulted in "squandering $20
billion (since 2003) so that an average car owner can pocket $200 a year."

Engine swap24 Nov 2007 00:11 GMT2
I have a 2000 Dodge Neon. I find it slow. Great handling, slow
acceleration. I have to repeatedly take it to WOT even in normal
traffic. I also have a wrecked 1991 Dodge Dynasty with the 3.3L and
7AOD tranny. I THINK it'll fit under the hood. Now, I know I'll have

Home Tire inflation23 Nov 2007 01:25 GMT10
Anyone have one of these little compressors for keeping inflation at proper
levels?  Or are they just toys?  Now that I'm up to 4 (2 teenagers, not
myself!) cars, it would be nice to do it at home when I want.

For the first time in many many years, I have noticed that the thread
profile on my winter tires was reversed when looking at either the
conductor or the passenger side. I mean that on the right side the
thread pattern is pointing down while it is pointing up on the left
California SMOG and Idle22 Nov 2007 19:52 GMT3
I have a 77 Ford F-250 that's having a problem passing SMOG because of
engine modifications including a camshaft change.  The engine specs
show an idle speed of 650 rpm.  I know if I raise the idle the truck
will pass.  Does anyone know if I can raise the idle to 900 to 1000
Spark Plug Brands????22 Nov 2007 19:41 GMT9
My 2003 Pontiac Montana runs well, but at over 115,000 miles,
I figure it's due for new plugs. It's been only about five years since
I did a tune-up on any car, and the prices floored me.  Plugs for this
thing ranged from 14.95 each down to 1.69 for Champions.
