Transmission Seal04 Jan 2008 04:41 GMT5
I recently had my Chevy truck 3500 series (diesel) rear main seal
replaced, for which I was charged $900.00.  Two weeks later my truck
starts pouring out transmission fluid.  Please note that I have owned
this truck since it was new and it has never leaked a drop of trans.
Can a GM Harmonic Balancer be fixed?03 Jan 2008 17:30 GMT16
I could use a few opinions here.
We recently bought a Cutlass Ciera with the 3.3 engine in it for $100.00
in excellent shape.  It passed emissions easy and only needed a little
brake work and a light bulb for safety cert.

What IS the proper procedure for checking the level of the AutoTrans

differing advice on this from friends.

For the last 3 tanks, the mileage has been under 20mpg.
I took the car to the dealer and they said they could not do anything

is in excellent condition and has never given me any problems until now.
For the past few months the vehicle's electrical system ...

Antifreeze loss, frigid weather.02 Jan 2008 14:07 GMT1
Each year when the temperature drops below 10 degrees F, I notice that
the level of antifreeze drops more than usual.   This has occured on the
last 3 cars I have owned.
I drove the car on a 7 hour trip and the antifreeze level stayed the
1992 Explorer won't start02 Jan 2008 05:05 GMT4
We have a 1992 Ford Explorer that has 180,000 miles on it. It stays
parked in a storage lot and is only used to tow our small boat to the
lake nearby,,,so it is used very seldom. We do start it and run it for a
few moments every other week and have never had a problem with it until
Alternator pulley...01 Jan 2008 20:23 GMT11
I've got a 1986 Chevy G10 van. Rarely gets used, but handy to have around.
Gets driving maybe once a month.
A while ago there was an awful racket under the hood. I checked the noise
and found that the alternator belt had failed. Not a big issue. Pulled the
CV Outer Boots on '92 Dodge Spirit01 Jan 2008 18:41 GMT5
I have had to replace the cv boots on my '92 Dodge Spirit (6 cyl) more
often than I can remember, both front cv outer boots again just this
week.  Is this something that requires frequent replacement on all
cars, or is this a fault of this particular vehicle?
