Non-flammable, gasoline-like fluid for injector testing?12 Feb 2008 01:13 GMT12
I am building an injector test rig for a friend and I wonder what you
can use instead of gasoline for testing. Ideally something with
similar viscosity etc, but not as flammable and irritating?

I have a 6 cylinder 2000 olds Alero.  When I start it from a cold

as the engine is warm I have no problems.  If I try to drive off while
it is idleing rough the check engine light will come on and and go off

2004 Avalanche - Complete Electrical failure - CAme good again10 Feb 2008 15:19 GMT1
I have a 2004 Chevy Avalanche.  Last night, I drove into my driveway and turned
the ignition switch to off.  Immediately, there was no electrical activity at

park outdoors and it was very dark, I decided ...
regenerative braking10 Feb 2008 01:56 GMT34
What is the efficiency of regenerative brakes?
Let's say we have a 3000 lb. vehicle, traveling 30 mph.
It hits a red lght.  That's 1350000 lb-(mi/hr)^2
kinetic energy, dissipated through the disc brakes.
Odometer fraud???09 Feb 2008 13:12 GMT13
I have a 2004 Ford Explorer, it had nearly 20,000 miles on it when I
bought it two years ago. It now has 54,000 miles and I've already had
to replace the brakes. Now, I just spent $800 because the rear end
went out and the mechanic also found a rust bubble on the hood that
The Way to Paradise09 Feb 2008 00:23 GMT57
We are all in quest of true happiness.  In this world, the idea of
true/perfect happiness is not feasible because this world is
inevitably doomed to total annihilation.  True happiness is found only
in dwelling upon Paradise, and enjoying its blessings.  However, none

Charging battery . . .07 Feb 2008 16:05 GMT7
When charging a dead battery in a car -- do I need to disconnect the
positive and negative terminals and then connect the charging clamps to the
battery?  I have been doing that so there would be no chance of harming the
cars computer -- but maybe that's not necessary?  Also, on ...

I've got a battery charger that can charge a battery between 2 and 15 amps.
One of the features of this charger is a "maintenance" mode. When this does
