'02 Sentra recall for engine replacement?08 Mar 2008 14:15 GMT1
I'm looking at a used Sentra SE-R 2002.  The seller claims the engine was
replaced 15,000 miles ago under a recall.  My searching for a recall on the
'02 Nissans doesn't show anything like that.  It makes me wonder if I am
being misled.
gas fiilter 99 Jeep08 Mar 2008 12:14 GMT2
I have a 99 Jeep grand Cherokee that I am very happy with but wonder
what it would cost (about) to change the gas filter.
I know it is in the gas tank so it probably means the tank has to be
dropped.
Alero possible head or manifold gasket leak?08 Mar 2008 12:08 GMT14
I have a 2000 alero 3.4 w/ 144000 miles and it was missing off of a
cold start for a while.  And I had to add antifreeze once.  I replaced
the surge tank cap and I didn't have to add anymore.  But I still had
the missing.  I bought a code scanner and it said it was missing on
Best Way To Remove Sludge From Oil Pan?08 Mar 2008 12:04 GMT11
Has anyone here had any luck with aftermarket additives for removing
sludge from your engine/oilpan? I've heard good things about a product
called "Seafoam" but quite honestly I've been using regular hi-
detergent trans fluid and don't have any problems with that...anyone

2003 Town & Country Limited Problem07 Mar 2008 05:50 GMT4
I recently purchased a 2003 T&C Limited and noticed a few days from
purchase that when in drive and at a stop when I go to take off gently
it feels like the tranny is slipping like 3-4 little jerks and then all
is fine.  If I take of a little bit faster it does not jerk and takes
Possible to bench test an Idle Speed Control Valve?07 Mar 2008 04:26 GMT6
I just replaced the one on my car, a 1995 Escort, and I'm curious as
to how this thing is supposed to work.  the resistance across the coil
is right, but when I apply voltages to it (anywhere from 8-25V DC) I
really don't see anything resembling what I'd expect to see, but I do
Honda Civic suspension -- going backwards?07 Mar 2008 00:39 GMT2
I have a 1999 Honda Civic. It has multi link read and Wish-bone front
suspension. The newer Civics have Macpherson strut suspension. I
though  Wish-bone set ups were ment to be better, or does this make
such a small difference no one cares?

Windshield chip too small to repair?06 Mar 2008 14:43 GMT18
I have a really tiny chip in my windshield.  My insurance company sent
someone out to fix it, but he said it was too small to repair.
Normally, I wouldn't mind, but the chip is located right in the middle
of my field of vision, so it's very distracting.  The repair guy said
U.S.Post Office mail delivery vans06 Mar 2008 12:38 GMT4
What does the Post Offices do with those vans when they get old enough?
What engines do the vans have? I assume they have automatic
transmissions.

anyone know the temp sender specs on a VDO temp gauge?06 Mar 2008 02:41 GMT6
I've got a VDO 400F trans temp gauge in my truck, I have not seen it
come off the peg, I was thinking it should get over 200F as soon as the
engine is warmed up.  Do the VDO gauges have high resistance at low
temps and low resistance at high temps as one would expect?  (that is,
vacuum readings on a 300 I-6?05 Mar 2008 22:58 GMT4
What's a normal vacuum reading on a Ford 300 I-6?  I installed a vacuum
gauge over the weekend and when I drove the truck on Sunday high idle
vacuum was very high, 18 or 19 in. Hg. and idle in drive something like
15.  Coasting would hit 21 or 22 in. Hg.  Today I drove it again ...
System Not Charging Battery04 Mar 2008 22:25 GMT5
I recently replaced the alternator and battery on my 1995 Olds
Silhouette.  It doesn't charge the battery.  The volt meter in the
dash is at about 8... then drops down to 0 and the car quits.
I've cleaned all the connections, charged the battery again... just

Started my van this morning and the brake and ABS light came on. Brake

noticed a buzzing everytime I step on the brakes and the ABS light
would flicker. Now it has almost no brakes and the buzzing is almost
