Viton vs PTFE Rear Main Seal08 Jun 2008 12:29 GMT1
I'm overhauling my 94 DOHC engine again, and as I look at ROck-Auto's
web site, I notice that they have THREE choices for rear-main seal
available. Since the mains on the Saturn DOHC engines are usually
leakers, I guess they are designed to address the problem. One is an
Do they still sell car radios with real sliders & knobs on the front?06 Jun 2008 04:28 GMT7
My wife and I recently found ourselves looking at that gift from the
future (our future tax dollars) - the government stimulus check.  We decided

stereo supports only cassette tape playback.
How does climate control AC work?05 Jun 2008 17:28 GMT4
In a car with climate control, I set temperature to say 80. Does that

or hot coolant to warm it up to the final temperature 80, or the 80
degree is maintained in a more economical way? I mean, does it run AC

Having owned and maitained about 20, mostly GM cars in the 70 - 90 era
I have a lot of old power steering and engine oil pumps.  Now I need
to pump waste vegetable oil through a de-watering and particulate (3

Lifespan of 99 Chevy Prizm03 Jun 2008 20:21 GMT2
I'm considering buying a 99 Chevy Prizm LSI, with 1.8 L engine and
auto trans with OD.  It has 120,000 miles on it.  Do these cars last
to say,  200,000 miles ???
They're asking $4,395  !!   I'd offer less, of course.

Last weekend, my battery died. I have a 1999 grand cherokee. I jumped it, and
it ran perfectly fine. however, I've had to jump it 3 more times since then

Hydraulic Jack Slow to Rise03 Jun 2008 18:51 GMT5
I have a 2 ton hydraulic jack that worked perfectly for over 10
years.  But this Spring when I tried to use it, I found that the first
2/3 of the pump travel doesn't do anything, only the last 1/3 is doing
any actual pumping.  The first 2/3 of the travel offers no resistance,

I have owned the vehicle for 2 years and driven it for aproximately
half a year because of the problems (above). What follows is a listing
of the tests that I have carried out, including the vehicles air care
record. I don’t know how it passed the last test as it smoked and

I don't want to spend $350 for a heater control switch, etc, when
the warranty runs out.
Q. re. '96 Corolla CAm Timing Mark02 Jun 2008 18:30 GMT4
I'm changing the timing belt on my '96 Corolla. The hard part was
breaking free the harmonic balancer bolt. I tried jamming the camshaft

few sudden jumps, I began to worry that the timing belt was slipping
