What could have happened?????29 Sep 2008 20:48 GMT4
Oy. OK I changed the head gasket and intake/exhaust gasket today on my
Jeep 4.0. It fired up fine but I seemed to be smelling/seeing exhaust

Is motorcraft now autolite?29 Sep 2008 17:26 GMT24
I went looking for motorcraft plugs for my 87 Lincoln.  Three major
parts stores said there is no more motocraft, its all now autolite.
Can I assume that an autolite plug is 100% the same as the motorcraft
plug that was installed at the factory in 1987?

Smoke Coming Out Of Distributer (long post)28 Sep 2008 18:49 GMT2
OK, here's one that's totally stumping me...I'm driving the other day,
in the rain, and my '90 Acura Legend gives a slight pop from the
engine compartment and then stalls out. I pull over to the side of the
road, open the hood and see some smoke coming from around the
What does "No compression" mean?28 Sep 2008 02:09 GMT40
My 1994 Jeep Cherokee (Inline 6 4.0) started running really rough last
week as if one of the cylinders was missing. I changed all the plugs
and wires and cap/rotor and that fixed nothing. I was thinking maybe
an injector wasn`t working and turned the Jeep on and unplugged each

I bought the van last Sunday. Each one of the positive and negative
battery cables has a replacement clamp on the end where they connect to
the battery.I don't like those kind of clamps. Are the positive and the
negative battery cables hard to replace with new cables like the kind

I have a friend who owns a 98 Buick Lesabre and she says that it
stalls when she slows down from high speeds  while taking exit ramps
off the highway. Not sure whats going on but I was wondering if the
OBC would reveal what the problem is. Anyone else have this problem? I

This car is a 3.1 v6 it runs ok most of the time. But randomly out of
nowhere it will bog and stall when you push the gas pedal. Then the

Which spark plug?25 Sep 2008 12:18 GMT17
Which spark plug should i buy for 1987 Towncar, 5.0 V-8?   The original
plug is a Champion copper core.  But when you look at the optional plugs
theres a list of 17 more.  They range in price from $1.88 to $7.99 each.
(Champion, Autolite, NKG, Delco, Bosh)  There are copper,
Should I change my transmission filter at 170,000 miles?24 Sep 2008 04:31 GMT5
It still have the original one in it, and I was wondering if I'm due.
And no I'm not considering a flush, I know not to do that, I want to
stay on topic to just the filter.
I once had a car where I did it every 30,000 miles, and it was never

Wait a cycle after resetting MIL before inspection?23 Sep 2008 19:05 GMT11
I've had my Lexus LS400 exhaust repaired, and they reset the engine
light. Can I get it inspected immediately? (I'm in NJ if that makes
any difference.) Shop told me the OBD2 will show "Not Ready" for
around 100 miles and I will fail because of that. True or false?
