New car30 Nov 2009 16:18 GMT7
I'm thinking about replacing my Rav4 (daughter just begged away the Camry)
with a New Rav, a Vensa, or a Silverado (Truck is on the list because of the
$3500 rebate on my GM MC account). Reliability is important, Rav has
excellent reports, Silverado has average, but Vensa is too ...

Low Cost Automotive Scan Gauge28 Nov 2009 02:53 GMT2
I have recently built a low-cost Scan Gauge for my vehicle.  I am
going to build up some additional units to sell, if anyone's
interested.  I will be selling them (initially) for $95.
I don't know if this would be interesting/useful for anyone here, but

Lucas Oil to quiet P/S Pump26 Nov 2009 07:19 GMT9
Previously, in this group I asked about quieting the power steering
pump on my 99 Ranger.  (I tried to reply to that thread instead of
starting another, but I don't see it posted)
Mine's a little more intense than most plastic-bodied pumps....
Running without a smog pump?25 Nov 2009 17:47 GMT7
The bearing/bushing has failed on the smog pump on my '87 Isuzu Trooper
2.3L.
What problems will likely be caused if I just remove the belt ( it's all
on its own ) and don't bother to replace it? I don't live in a place

Ford's "Easy Fuel" capless fuel filler?23 Nov 2009 15:11 GMT17
I just learned that the 2010 (and perhaps earlier) Ford
Explorers, and other Ford models, have what Ford calls
"Easy Fuel" capless fuel fillers.  As near as I can
tell, instead of unscrewing a cap, one inserts the gas
High Stall Torque converter question23 Nov 2009 13:56 GMT5
I'm have the transmission (TH400) redone in a 69 firebird.  The shop
was asking if I would want to go with a high(er) stall converter.
Apparently the standard is around 1600 and he's saying it would have
more off the line power with a 2500 rpm converter.  There must be a
