Fulltimer advice sought (finding a tow vehicle)28 Feb 2005 21:48 GMT34
Can anyone refer me to a good site to read about axle ratios?
After years of touring (camping) with our Class-C we are looking
into the 5th wheel market now that we have more time.  As that
we are fond of something just under 30'ft. and at least 11,000 lbs.
Looking for recommendations for RV rental company in Massachusetts28 Feb 2005 16:50 GMT4
My wife and I are going to rent (for the first time) a Class C RV and take a
one week trip on the east coast as a trial run for a one month trip in the
summer of 2006 out west. We live about 30 miles west of Boston. Can you
recommend a company that we should contact?
Mounting a GPS in a class C28 Feb 2005 15:34 GMT7
I need to set up my laptop with Delorme 2005 and GPS. It's a new
laptop, but it's pretty big, (15.4") screen. I was thinking of
mounting it on the tray that's on the motor cover. Another option is
to get a flat screen and mounting that on the tray. Then putting the
What is it like to Drive a Class A?28 Feb 2005 01:07 GMT21
We're thinking of upgrading from our Pop up (pulled by a Honda Odyssey) to a
Class A - possibly a Winnebago Sightseer 29R.  All I've ever driven is an
automobile.  What is it like to drive a Class A - on a 4-lane, on a 2-lane,
on-coming truck, windy days, twisty roads, driving in ...
Alaska Tips27 Feb 2005 03:20 GMT3
We are going to Alaska for August.  Any tips would be appreciated.  It looks
like we will be going and coming back different ways in order to pass
through Smithers, BC for a trip to a remote fishing cabin.
We have some Alaska and Canadian magazines with all sorts of ads, but would ...
Inverter Switch26 Feb 2005 18:30 GMT7
We left one CG yesterday and started driving.  I stopped for lunch and
turned the inverter (300 Watt unit) on so we could catch some news on
TV.  Nada.  Wouldn't come on.
So we continued on to the next place (Holiday RV in LAs Vegas) and
Replacing roof on 81 Coleman PUP25 Feb 2005 03:51 GMT2
Well, I went to replace one of the lights in the popup, and I noticed
the wood in the roof is rotten. Great. I have to replace the roof.
Here's the question... HOW?
The roof seems to be an aluminum outer skin, with a layer of

Owner Manual for Older Coleman PUP24 Feb 2005 03:23 GMT2
I just bought a 1981 Coleman PUP and I am trying to locate owner's
manuals for it. I called Fleetwood and they tell me they are not
available.
I would accept photocopies, PDF's, or even a link to where I could
Pop-up in Iowa ?24 Feb 2005 02:04 GMT1

A question for you'all fulltimers.24 Feb 2005 00:43 GMT6
After taking ever longer trips in the ol' Class C in the pre-retirement
days, I am about to cruise out for an indefinite period - at least.
The one problem is mail.  What do fulltimers do when they start down the
road and leave no permanent address behind them?  Like for mail.
To Class "A" or Not to Class "A"?23 Feb 2005 23:35 GMT7
I know this is a dumb question, so please don't pimp-slap me.      ;)
We're already semi-fulltiming in our 5th wheel and we're enjoying it
very much (We finish selling the house in a few months).  However, my
other half wants us to move up to a Class "A" coach - - but there's
'00 Coleman Westlake...new roof replacement experiences?23 Feb 2005 22:38 GMT4
This spring I'll be getting the roof replaced on my '00 Coleman Westlake
under warranty, after the dealer found some small cracks under the edge in
the original ABS roof during some fall service.  If anyone has had their
original ABS roof replaced by one of these new-design roofs ...
Rear weight on a Jayco 140623 Feb 2005 16:46 GMT5
Has anyone added a bike rack ( or anything heavy) to the rear of a
Jayco 1406.  I have a reciever type bike rack for 4 bikes and was
thinking about adding a reciever to the back of the camper to hold the
bike rack.  The bumper is not strong enough, so I was thinking of
Need Info on New Mattresses23 Feb 2005 04:30 GMT10
We are thinking about replacing the bunkend mattresses in our 1987 Starcraft
Starmaster.
The ones there are still in good shape, but not thick enough for our aching
bones! When it's just Hubby and I, we take one mattress from one end and put
