tow vehicle wheelbase to trailer length ratio25 Mar 2005 17:39 GMT12
There a common rule of thumb cited here that you shouldn't exceed 75% of the
towing capacity of your tow vehicle. That's a goal I share.
Concern with the wheelbase of the tow vehicle, with respect to length the
trailer, is also cited frequently. I understand the reasoning but have ...

Over the last 5 years Ive learned a TON on this newsgroup (and ignored
some really big nutcases we had) and met some nice people on IRC chat.
leveler question25 Mar 2005 06:27 GMT7
I just returned from a trip, and the jacks won't come down.
I have hydraulic jacks, with the keypad inside on the dash.  Common brand of
three letters, but I'm too lazy to go outside and look right now, and am
tired and ready for bed.
Battery question24 Mar 2005 17:10 GMT2
Check your library for "The Complete Battery Book" by Richard A. Perez,
printed by Tab Books in 1985. It's the best book I have found about
batteries so far.
Battery question24 Mar 2005 01:35 GMT3
Our dual 12v. batteries don't seem to last very long when boondocking.
Sometimes, only overnight.  When we leave, they are fully charged, after
being on house current for a good while.  We have a Newmar, and it has a top
of the line charge system that turns off and on by sensing ...
Advice/experiences with Air Conditioning23 Mar 2005 17:03 GMT4
I have a 1985 Coleman Sequoia, and I am looking at getting an A/C or a
heat pump for it.  We bought it last year, but we have used it all year
round in the Mid-atlantic area.  We plan to use it a lot this summer and
I think we need the A/C.  This winter was pretty cold, but ...
Towing pop-up with 98 Plymouth Voyager 3.8L22 Mar 2005 22:12 GMT6
We want to purchase a 2004 Fleetwood Taos but I'm looking at my towing
capacity in the Chrysler manual and it looks like a no-go.  According
to the manual at 6-7 passengers, the towing capactiy is at 1200 pounds.
There are 6 in my family.  Any idea how much the Taos weighs?  Anyone

WD-4021 Mar 2005 21:29 GMT23
Saw this in another group.  Thought some of the folks here might like
reading it.

> The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. ...

BunkEnd Weight Capacity21 Mar 2005 06:49 GMT4
I have a question that I don't think has been asked here (or not for awhile
anyway, since I don't know how to search archives).
Does anyone know how much weight a bunk-end can handle in a 1987 Starcraft
Starmaster? Or where I can find that out? No manual came with the camper
Newbie toad, brackets and bar.20 Mar 2005 00:23 GMT4
I'm looking to buy a SAFE setup for a 1997 Tioga Montara E460 26'.
I want to tow a 2002 toyota echo, from what I have read a blue Ox towbar is
the best. I need to find a matching tow bracket for the car. Any

A friend and I went to bike week in Daytona last week. I stayed at my sons
house and he drove his 42 ft Monaco motorhome with a 1 piece windshield.
After pulling upon a concrete pad at the camp grounds, he noticed that the
windshield rubber seemed displaced before leveling. After a ...
