On pulling with the wrong vehicle.09 Jul 2005 04:00 GMT5
I have considered purchasing a small used trailer or pop up, been looking
hard at pop ups and have found a few in really good condition for low cost.
I am a Tent camper but the wife and daughter have had it with the tents. The
thing is, what I have to tow with. Having lurked a while ...
Loud Generator09 Jul 2005 03:52 GMT4
We just got back from a GREAT four-day "weekend" at a "local" state park.
I prefer to "dry" camp for the increased solitude it provides.  Also, the
"primitive" sites in this particular campground are "undefined" allowing me to
pull well back from the road.  This increases our ...
Sway control?08 Jul 2005 20:27 GMT7
Has anybody try one of those friction sway control devices? Do they work
pretty well? Or should you use something different on the popup?

The best RVs07 Jul 2005 23:18 GMT18
I'd like to get the group's opinion on the best RVs
a newbie like myself might consider for his first foray
into RVing.
I consider the Chevy Impala, the Toyota Camry, and the
Next project: RV desktop computer with GPS,MP3,temps and batt V's.07 Jul 2005 01:48 GMT17
Well,
I'm in the building stage of my next RV mod/project. I want a computer
mounted permanently in it that isn't going to cost $1200. Something that I
can use with GPS, a large screen, MP3, temp sensing and Wifi.

Ladder06 Jul 2005 23:09 GMT4
Just finished waxing the rig. What a chore without a step ladder (don't have
the room to bring one along).
Looking at the roof ladder attached to the rig I'm thinking that why it
couldn't be modified to be both, a roof AND a step ladder. By pulling, say,
Mylar covers over bunk ends06 Jul 2005 18:07 GMT8
I have some mylar 'space blankets' I purchased to cover the bunk ends of my
'00 Coleman Mesa, as a barrier to radiant heat. I chose to use space
blankets because they're bound on the edges and the fabric appears to be
reinforced. Their size requires that I use 2 per bunk end. If ...
How to clean egg crate foam?05 Jul 2005 22:28 GMT1
We have had an egg crate foam pad on our mattress since day one... and over
time it absorbs odors (e.g, wood smoke).  Any ideas on how to clean one of
these things?

air  conditioner performance05 Jul 2005 12:37 GMT43
I just had a 13,500 BTU air conditioner installed in my pop-up and I'm
wondering how I can check it's performance. It doesn't seem to be
cooling as well as it should and I'm curious if there is a place in the
popup (or at the vent) that I should take a measurement and what
Alert: Minnesota campgrounds likely to shut down 6/30/2005 :(05 Jul 2005 07:04 GMT11
Due to an ongoing budget crisis (i.e. a power struggle among politicians),
it now appears likely that state parks (and many other non-essential
Minnesota state government operations) will shut down on Thursday, June 30,
2005 at 4 PM.

RVers as possible. Please feel free to forward this message to
Continued Converter Problems05 Jul 2005 02:48 GMT6
We have a Coleman Santa Fe which we purchase new in 1999.   We're about to
have to get our 4th (FOURTH!!) converter.  The first lasted a couple of
years, then died.  The second lasted about 2 or 3 years then died.  The last
one, a "World Friendship Company, LDT" one was installed ...
Roof products?05 Jul 2005 00:08 GMT3
My RV has a 2 piece aluminum roof that is showing it's age.
I have to do something about it this year, as it's starting to get
pinholes.
I'm leaning towards some kind of roll-on product.
