GB in NC is back (long post)30 Nov 2005 13:44 GMT73
Greetings, fellow RVers (and wannabes) --
I've been "gone" from these two RV newsgroups for about a year now
("gone" in the sense that I refrained from posting, although I continued
to lurk every day) and have now decided to jump back in from time to
Slide-in Camper weight question29 Nov 2005 02:52 GMT15
We recently got a 2001 Dodge 2500 Cummins TD quad cab long bed 4WD. Also
a 1997 Coachmen Ranger camper. Camper plate says 3000 lbs, truck weights
around 7,000 lbs that puts the total at 10,000 or thereabouts.
We have the camper helper spring/sway bar setup and air bags. New
computer question29 Nov 2005 01:50 GMT11
Well, I can't figure it out, so I will ask youse guys .........
When I bring up my home page, or ebay, or lots of sites, the pictures look
like mosaics.  They are recognizable, but appear as small chunks, like a
mosaic.
Satellite TV database28 Nov 2005 21:57 GMT21
I'm looking for a database that if I enter the latitude and longitude it
will tell me the info needed to aim my dish network dish?
Is there such a database?
Thanks
Wheel cover recommendation28 Nov 2005 21:29 GMT1
I have no interest in this guy's business, but just received my order. I
ordered a "made in USA" spare tire cover for my 5th wheel, and I was
surprised by the quality of the product I received. It is heavy weight,
LINED vinyl, well stitched and banded a full 360 degrees, it ...
5th wheel or travel trailer?28 Nov 2005 01:32 GMT58
We will hopefully be purchasing an rv in the not too distant future. I'd
like some feed back on the pros and cons of 5th wheels vs. travel trailers.
I'll be using at least a half ton pickup as a tow vehicle. ( i've yet to buy
the tow vehicle as well)
Where can I get Pop-up parts?27 Nov 2005 21:18 GMT3
Hi Group,
I have been looking on the net with no success. Can some one tell me where I
can find camper parts such as Battery tray, LP Gas rack, Coleman outside
cook stove and mount (the one on the outside of the trailer), etc. Any
Mysterious Water leak27 Nov 2005 11:01 GMT1
A mysterious Water leak was heard in the front of the 5er. Thought
to have been heard in the closet next to the bed located over the pin.
It was late at night and I was laying with my head almost touching
the inside wall of the front cap. I could hear it start to sprinkle

I sold my hybrid...damn, I really liked that unit. But, I am in the
market for a pop-up. Ac is nice, stove is a must as is a fridge.

Maps26 Nov 2005 10:47 GMT12
I'd like to get some recommendations on detailed map vendors. I am familiar
with the DeLorme series but I read mixed reviews on their Atlas/Gazetteer
series on Amazon. I'm looking for detailed maps for Idaho, Montana, and
Wyoming if that makes a difference in your reply.
Raise Trailer w/axle-flip25 Nov 2005 05:38 GMT12
My entry-level travel trailer has a "conventionally"-sprung suspension w/leaf
springs and no shocks.  I understand that the axles with this type of
suspension can be "flipped" to achieve a higher ground clearance.
If I have this modification done, it will be done by a "certified" ...
Winter Storage?24 Nov 2005 06:47 GMT16
We're newbies, just bought our first RV this past spring (a '93 BornFree),
and now that the weather is getting cold we're looking for reasonably priced
indoor space in the Northeast.
What do you folks do, and does anyone know of a place?  We live in New York,
Aux Battery Bank24 Nov 2005 00:32 GMT16
Auxiliary Battery Bank For 5th Wheel. Like many RVs there is one
thing that is always at a premium, that is space. I have in the past
stored my two EU2000i gen sets in the front compartment just behind
the pin and tow vehicle where the single gp24 battery is located. I
Food for Power Conservation23 Nov 2005 14:43 GMT10
Food for Power Conservation
We overlook new technology when it comes to food preparation. There
are several food items out there that requires much less resources
to prepare. One is the ready prepared biscuits, come frozen ready to
What is the formula for measuring Inverter output voltage ?22 Nov 2005 03:06 GMT12
For example,  if you are getting a reading of 89 vac output at a 700 w.
Vector Inverter using a relatively inexpensive voltmeter, what is the
'actual common' voltage output really ?  Is there a formula ?
Thanks.
