SLP "Cold Air" Induction plus cheap mod31 Jul 2004 05:54 GMT2
I put SLP's cold-air induction on my '97 Formula a couple years ago.
Last November a young lady darted-out in front of me to get T-boned
and buy me a new SLP "RAM-AIR" hood.  Based on the 20HP gain SLP
quoted for the cold-air setup vs the 15hp gain they quoted for the

I have a 86 Camaro with a 2.8l engine. This past week I have been

buffing out paint-- any suggestions??30 Jul 2004 16:38 GMT30
When I bought my Camaro (1968), about 1 year ago, it had just been
repainted, not a show car quality job
but a nice original looking matador red with the black bumblebee stripe.
The paint looks good, but I don't think it has ever really been buffed out
'79 Z28 engine30 Jul 2004 02:56 GMT2
I have a chance to buy a 1979 Z28 that is in good condition only it is
minus the engine and transmission.  This would be my first project like
this so any experienced people please do put in your two cents worth. Does
anyone know what kind of engine and transmission came with the ...
Coil spring replacement29 Jul 2004 14:16 GMT15
Well, that was a fun job (on my 66 Elky).  The shop manual I have said
it was similar to first gen Camaros.  Out of curiosity, does anyone
know what kind of time a pro would put on that job?
I just wonder how much it cost me for the experience, because I know

1972 Camaro Question???28 Jul 2004 19:41 GMT2
Could someone please tell if it is possible for a regular Camaro to be a
"real" split bumper car?? There was a 1972 Camaro in my local car
magazine for sale at a very reasonable price, so reasonable that it was
sold within 2 days after the book came out.
Single best piece of suspension gear28 Jul 2004 12:58 GMT1
What piece in your suspension has provided the best positive (negative?)
change? New shocks/struts? Springs? control arms? Lets hear it!
For reference, I am redoing my suspension on the 1st, and am planning on
using KYB and Eibach primarily. Suggestions? I need front springs ...
Rear Passenger Bump 2000 Z2827 Jul 2004 18:59 GMT5
I have this infamous bumping noise when I hard brake or hit bumpy terrain.
Took the rear pass. wheel off today and could not find anything loose. Only
noticed the sway bar connects to the body on that side in sort of an angle
onto a downward bar. My brake caliper was snug as all ...
Did you ever wonder how show cars never have any scratches on the bolt heads?27 Jul 2004 12:25 GMT2
I'm still wondering? I'm not going for show quality, but neat and clean I
am. I can't seem to not keep from scratching the bolt heads of my bolts when
returning them to the car.
How do you guys do it?

'86 CHMSL25 Jul 2004 07:19 GMT6
CHMSL = center high mounted stop light
It's mounted externally, on the roof side of the hatchback glass.
This was the first and only year Z28's and IROC-Z's had this
unique feature.
Disc brake swap problems24 Jul 2004 00:41 GMT6
I'm trying to do a Disc brake conversion on my 67' Malibu. I was told
70' Camaro steering knuckle asm and caliper/rotor will be an easy
swap. So about 2 yr ago I bought a supposed 70' Camaro subframe and
put the knuckles in storage. I just started to do the swap and these
Towing an '86 Camaro23 Jul 2004 08:33 GMT10
I need to tow a non-running '86 Camaro Coupe (V6, standard) about 200
miles from Florida to Mississippi.  I don't want to use the big U-Haul
auto-transporter because I don't know how I'd get the car on it.  I
figure I can easily push it onto a tow dolly.
