car ownership experiences14 Apr 2004 05:29 GMT10
Has anyone here had experience with owning/driving other exotic cars besides
Corvette?  The warranty is about to expire on my C5 vert and before I jump
into another C6, i'd like to look at a few other cars for considation.
Cars I would consider are the BMW M3, Porsche Boxster or 911 ...
Red Plastic Lens mounted on door's, Reflector lens and not entry light -Right ?   C5 Vette14 Apr 2004 05:11 GMT2
Dumb question, but I wanted to check.
On both doors, mounted near the rear of the door is oval Red plastic lens.
Since neither the drivers side or passenger light up when the doors are
open, I assume these are just passive reflective lenses and not a entry
Cluster Headache14 Apr 2004 04:01 GMT3
My turn signal indicator went out on my 88 conv.  While trying to replace
the bulb, the socket twisted and fell inside the instrument cluster.  (ok,
take a moment to stop laughing) Ecklers sells a "Instrument Cluster Light
Bulb With Socket" which, at first thought, would seem like ...
C4 Frt Caliper Rattle14 Apr 2004 03:50 GMT8
94' C4, 6spd, ragtop
My front calipers rattle terribly when hitting road reflectors.
Just checking of there is a "kit" for the mounting hardware
to overcome loose calipers? Or is there a "non rattle" component

I have a '79 Vette and I am trying to eliminate some heat in the driver
compartment. I know that I can put some heat shields in between the carpet
and floors and I have used header wrap on the headers. I don't have AC in
the car. I find there is more heat generated inside when I ...

INSA TURBO Tires13 Apr 2004 20:44 GMT7
Anyone heard of INSA Turbo tire company? I just ordered a set of tires for
my 89 (Traction AA, Temp A, Treadwear 280). The internet ratings seems good,
but I am just wondering if any one has tried them or heard of them.
Thanks
C5 (1998) mirror problem 10 cent retaining clip costs 300.0013 Apr 2004 16:56 GMT14
The driver mirror on my 98 C5 had it's retaining ring pop off for no reason.
I couldn't figure out a way to fix it after taking it all apart, and brought
it to my dealer. (He said - never seen that before - read on) He said no way
to fix it, you need a new mirror, lets see part and ...

Loose nuts12 Apr 2004 22:11 GMT18
Do any of you other guys with side pipes have this problem?  The nuts on
the exhaust manifold studs keep getting loose.  Occasionally I'll even
lose one or two of them.  My buddy has a SB C2 (67) that does the same
thing.  I've just written it off at this point as part of the ...

1998 power fade12 Apr 2004 00:08 GMT1
I have a 1998 Corvette coupe with the Automatic transmission and 3.15 rear
gears.  I have been noticing lately that the car seems to be really bogging
down at the top of 2nd gear and in 3rd.  Off the line things feel good and
the shift from 1st to 2nd is strong but half way through ...
