probably asked to death, but...04 May 2004 01:17 GMT28
...I'm new to this group. I'm looking to buy my first vette. Right now, the
only thing in my price range is an '84. Are these things really the POS
models like most people say or are they worth the money? I hear the
suspension is awesome in them though. What should I look out for?

THE YEAR 1904
The year is 1904, one hundred years ago. What a difference a century makes!
Here are some of the US statistics for 1904:
The average life expectancy in the US was 47 years.

Hello to everyone in this group. I have a 1984 corvette that I just had
repainted and I put a compleate brand new interior in. Now I need new
wheels. I am of course looking at ZR1 wheels. My question is this, has
anyone purchased wheels from the following link?
Carlisle hotels?02 May 2004 12:11 GMT1
My wife and I are planning on going to the Corvettes at Carlisle show. I
realize that we need to make reservations quickly. We went two years ago,
but stayed at a rather pricey hotel. It was right in Carlisle. This year we
want to spend less money on the hotel, but still have a ...

Anyone selling a Vette and gets an email from overseas, check this out.  I
got an email from someone supposedly in England wanting to buy my Vette.
Corvettetraders.com advises it is a scam.
Below is a warning from corvettetraders.com.

when they do a 30,000 mile service for my 97 C5?
Oil Leak01 May 2004 21:08 GMT3
I have a 1969 350/350, 4 speed with a/c.  There is a slight oil leak under
the dash on the driver side at the wiper/headlight by pass switch.  I can't
find a problem with the oil pressure line.  Has anyone heard of oil getting
into the vaccum lines?
I probably will get the convertible01 May 2004 18:25 GMT2
OK
I got a call from a dealer... persistent guy... he has two 2002 Vettes. I am
leaning toward the convertible, but for the same money he has a Z06. both
are 6 speeds. Would you think I was nuts to pass on the Z/06? BTW Vert has
FS 01 Z06 Wheels 01 May 2004 18:23 GMT9
2001 Z06 factory wheels with 4K on them in real good condition. One small
very minor curb scrape on rt front about 2" long. Located in south eastern
MA. Don't want the aggravation of shipping so will deliver within 100 miles.
Or will drive 100 miles if somebody wants to meet up.
'76 rear end toast?01 May 2004 16:53 GMT5
On Sunday, put the new magnaflow dual 2 1/2 exhaust system in, on
Monday driving home from work the rear end blows up.  It started
howling and growling pretty bad, and I could feel that something was
broke from the way it drove.  Nursed it the additional mile home
Found crazy rattle on c501 May 2004 16:30 GMT14
I disassemled the passenger side door yesterday looking for a metalic
sounding rattle when the bass would hit from the speaker.
It was the "Bose" insignia on the grille.  The tabs got loose.

My '99 doesnt have HUD.  (Can't live with out it)  I'm considering replacing
the dash, cluster, and adding the projector.  Has anybody done this before?
Did you run into any problems?   Will GM dealers reprogram the odometer?
Are they the only ones who can/will do it?  These ...
Question for the day01 May 2004 11:20 GMT7
Although they are different will the tire pressure sensors from the
1997/2000 (10438853) work in the 2001/2004 (25731358)? I'm not talking about
will they fit, I'm asking if they will function.
Convertible Z0601 May 2004 07:10 GMT28
Has anyone heard about whether GM will be making the second generation Z06
available as a convertible? The most valuable Vettes from the 60's are big
block convertibles and I was just wondering if GM will have enough balls to
make direct competitor to the Viper.
