Engine performance - 1982 Corvette26 Jun 2004 03:00 GMT3
I've found a 1982 corvette that I'm interested in purchasing.
The engine has 64K miles on it and because of the sales
price I have an additional 5K available in my budget.  What
is the best investment for this money to increase the
C5 Corvette Steering Column Lock Problem26 Jun 2004 02:20 GMT10
I went down to my 2002 Corvette Coupe yesterday afternoon to find that the
steering column wouldn't unlock, and a "Pull key, wait 10 sec" message came up
in my message center.  I did this, tried again to start the car, and got a
"Service Column Lock" message.  I've tried multiple ...

85 Quit Running25 Jun 2004 13:02 GMT12
I took my 85 Corvette (approx 150k miles) for a short out of town trip
recently.  About an hour and a half in at 60 mph or so, the motor started
hesitating badly and all but died.  It was running fine until that point,
however I may have noticed a slight hesitation a few minutes ...
kids!25 Jun 2004 04:59 GMT8
had to take a break from working on my 75 (numerous interesting
problems there)  to check out my 17 yr old daughters car.
A few trips for parts, 3 hours, and she's on the road again.
Her only comment???
4 + 3 TRANSMISSION25 Jun 2004 04:54 GMT9
I'm not familiar with the 4+3 manual transmission.  Can someone explain what
this transmission is all about ?  How does it compare to a 5-speed or
6-speed ?

Loose steering in C325 Jun 2004 02:46 GMT2
I've got a 78 Silver Anniversary and the steering seems loose.  That is,
when driving down a straight road and doing normal subtle left/right
steering adjustment it seems that there is too much play in the steering
wheel before actually turning the wheels.  Is there any way to ...
Ground on 85 frame rail lost..where does it go?24 Jun 2004 21:09 GMT3
I have noticed that I have a ground wire attached to the frame rail very
close to the bottom of the battery (you can see it with the battery
installed) that has been cut a few inches from where it bolts up.  I cannot
find where this ground wire is supposed to connect.  Can someone ...
Test drove an '04 Z06 yesterday24 Jun 2004 17:34 GMT1
I took my 96 LT1 to the dealership for an oil change/lube yesterday
since I'm just bringin her out for the season, and the woman who sold
her to me back then let me take an '04 Z06 out for a solo test drive.

Air intake duct on C324 Jun 2004 15:09 GMT10
When I first got my Corvette a few weeks ago, I thought seemed kind of odd
that the air cleaner housing had essentially two intake ports and each were
breathing hot air right within the engine compartment.
Thinking that my car was missing some ducts for some cold air, I started
Cam and crank24 Jun 2004 15:07 GMT2
It turns out that the Honeywell facility I was visiting yesterday in
Freeport, IL makes ALL of the cam and crank position sensors for GM and
Chrysler.  They have a Corvette engine on display there.  Pretty cool.
So, if any of you guys need one of these things, let me know and ...
78 Brake rotors?24 Jun 2004 14:32 GMT7
just wondering how durable C3 Corvette brake Rotors are, mine have never
been removed from the car, still have factory rivots holding them on, and
there is no scoring on the surfaces.

Bad MAF Symptoms for 8923 Jun 2004 22:42 GMT8
I get code 36, but the car runs absolutely fine. How will I be able to guess
when it's time to replace the MAF sensor?
Thanks

Access to Aux input for 2002 CD player23 Jun 2004 16:11 GMT1
I have a 2002 Z06 Corvette. I notice that the CD player has a button
for selecting an "Aux" input. I believe this is for the optional
multi-CD trunk-mounted CD player. I do not have the optional multi-CD
trunk-mounted CD changer. I also have one of those hard disk drive
Changing the blinker module on a C523 Jun 2004 05:26 GMT2
I need to replace the main blinker module on my C5 but the dealership want's
an insane amount of labor to do this, so I think I'm just going to do it
myself, but I know it's a little bit of a trick to get to the module. So
does anybody know where I can get instructions on how to do ...
