Cool Story from R&T - Vette/Lamborghini31 Jul 2004 16:05 GMT16
Then it was 1968. Another car that ends in "i" made its entry into my
life. Mr. Gold bought one Of the first Lamborghini Miuras in the U.S.
For a company that did not participate in racing, Lamborghini made in
the Miura as much a race car for the street as any manufacturer's
Odometer question31 Jul 2004 04:11 GMT14
Hopefully this doesn't qualify as a dumb question...
Is there any way to tell if an odometer has been run past its mechanical
limit?  That is, since the odometer in the C3 has a max of 99,999.9 is there
a way to know if the car you're buying has 43,000 miles vs. 143,000 miles?

Kinda OT.  Radar detectors, Escort Solo vs older Valentine One.31 Jul 2004 00:17 GMT4
Sorry this is a bit OT...but at least it would go in my Vette....
I have one of the first Valentine One Radar Detectors from the early days
before the company split up.  So this one is from around 1995 and in those
days by far the best. However looking at the upgrade page, I get:
C3 Rear spring, center support bolts30 Jul 2004 21:22 GMT9
I'm in the process of re-installing my rebuilt diff on my '76.  Had a
ring bolt come out, fly around inside and eventually come out through
the cover.  Diff rebuilt (professionally), new ring and pinion, etc.
I bought a used cover on Ebay.  It came and looks good, but my bolts

Tunes in your Corvette30 Jul 2004 18:34 GMT41
Just took the '67 out the other day... I usually just listen to the side
exhaust with the windows wide open - no better music than that. BUT the
radio is always tuned to an oldies station - always has been, during the
25 years I've owned the car, no matter where I've lived. Just ...

C5 v. C629 Jul 2004 07:02 GMT10
I picked up a June 21 built C5 ten days ago for 39,000 with polished wheels,
6 speed, HUD 1SB luxury group, but with stock suspension.
I just read Corvette Quarterly that seems to make the C6 look like the best
thing since sliced bread.

1. Why does the security lite flash intermittently while I am driving? all
doors are closed.
2.My car has a hard time starting when engine is hot. Some times I have to sit
for 10 minutes before it fires up and catches on. On cold mornings, cool
Question about '72 vette w/ matching numbers29 Jul 2004 03:22 GMT6
I'm trying to figure out where to look on the block of a 72 vette to
find the numbers that are supposed to match the last 6 digits of the
VIN.  I've found a couple of different numbers stamped on the block,
but, so far none that were in the same format as the last 4 digits of

Brake shield question28 Jul 2004 14:52 GMT4
Has anyone use the inserts that go inside your rims to keep brake dust from
coming through?  If so, do they cause any brake heating, or any other
problems?  I don't do any hard braking, but do end up in moderate stop and
go traffic once in a while.
Oils....28 Jul 2004 14:46 GMT15
There has been a thread recently on AMSOIL.
What are the thoughts of Royal Purple.  Would there be any dramatic difference
in using that synthetic over Mobil 1 ?
Cheers
