2004 Z06 COMMEMORATIVE EDITION. What is a good price ?   Help Dad/Diode...14 Jul 2004 05:38 GMT9
I am still trying to figure out if I want to keep my 98 C5 (40K miles, lots
of performance goodies) and drive it till it dies, get the last of the C5's
in the 2004 CE vette or wait a few years until the bugs are gone from the C6
as never like to buy the first version of a new model. ...
Frustrated with plug wires14 Jul 2004 03:05 GMT5
Well, I finally decided to begin changing my plug wires tonight.  My first
obstacle (which no one mentioned when I asked about plug wires last month)
was to discover that the wires for the front four plugs actually run between
the motor mount and the engine block!  Thinking I must ...
Viper no more - Corvette now13 Jul 2004 18:51 GMT22
The deals were too good to be true.
Sold my 96 Viper for $34,600, and purchased a brand new black on black, C-5
Vette built in June 04 for $39,000.    1SB and polished aluminum wheels.
Can't think of anything else I would want on the car except maybe a CD
Injectors once again...8913 Jul 2004 15:04 GMT7
It's now time for a whole new set of injectors. Original GM's are pretty
costly. I've looked into the Motorsport #24 & Accel. Any other brands you
can recommend me. The car is completely stock.....
Thanks very much
75 brake proportion valve13 Jul 2004 08:38 GMT2
The one in my Vette is ugly....the brake light in the dash was on....the
master cylinder is obviously leaking.
Any way to test the valve?  I understand they can not or should not be
remaned?
75 Vette Modification Question13 Jul 2004 04:03 GMT4
How hard would it be to take a 1975 Corvette L48 with an automatic and put
in a LS1 engine along with a Tremec T56 Six Speed Manual Trans? Or is it
just an insane idea.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.
Want to refinish reveal moldings13 Jul 2004 03:22 GMT5
The reveal molding on my '79 looks quite bad.  It is supposed to be black,
but most of the paint has faded and it is bare metal.  Although I'm tempted
to just finish removing the paint and leave the bare metal (it doesn't look
too bad) I want it to look original.
Engine Break in C-5?  Not over 55?12 Jul 2004 22:48 GMT7
Owners manual on the 2004 says not over 55 for the first 500 miles.
I've already broken that rule this morning (85) for about a 1/4 of a mile.
Trying to figure out how seriously to take this break in advice?
Any C5 owners have opinions on this?
Rear window seal on convertible12 Jul 2004 20:15 GMT3
I have a 1995 convertible with a glass rear window.  The adhesive seal has
given out 3/4 of the way around the glass.  What adhesives are recommended
to make a permanent, (if there is such a thing!) seal bonding the glass, (or
the fabric edge around the glass) to the top?
Tired of over heating12 Jul 2004 15:14 GMT17
Can anyone recommend a chip programmer for a 96 LT1.
I'm tired of this thing overheating when I run the AC on a warm day (80
deg.).

Maintenance Schedule C-5?12 Jul 2004 14:32 GMT6
For the life of me, I can't find a maintenance schedule in the owner's
manual.  It seems to say that the computer will tell you.
On my 99, I changed the oil and filter and had the C5 looked over at 1000
miles.   There doesn't seem to be any suggestion to do that now.
C6 or discounted C5?12 Jul 2004 06:08 GMT13
It's my time to put my deposit down on the C6.  I've been number 1 on the C6
convertible list at my local dealer for about six months, but I've decided
to go with a coupe.
I had a 99 C5 convertible which I liked, but sold to get my daughter an SUV
Think it's the fuel pump12 Jul 2004 05:57 GMT6
I'm having a little problem with my 94. It is jerking some while driving and
has stalled out on me a couple of times. It's a little hard to start after a
stall. (A little more info: 6 speed manual and the clutch seems strong). The
fuel filter was changed right before I bought it ...
