More Brake Questions31 Oct 2004 20:21 GMT2
Thanks for all the info on slotted/drilled brakes! I take delivery of
my '05 in about 2 weeks and am curious regarding ideas/advice about
"braking-in" new brakes. I've heard that the manual recommends no heavy
brake usage during the initial break-in period for the car. I'm ...
Maybe newbie with questions @ '94 31 Oct 2004 01:09 GMT3
I'm looking to buy my first Corvette. Its been 55 years and I'm ready. Today
I took a '94 for the third test drive. During the first, the handling was
exceptionally sloppy. Turns out the right rear tire was substantially
underinflated. Test drive #2 was with repaired tire in light ...

Body shop in Tampa, FL30 Oct 2004 05:06 GMT1
For the Tampa Bay area readers: do you have any experience with body
shops in the area (Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater) for minor fiberglass
repair. The tip of my C3's nose got scraped up and I'm not sure who to
take it to.
Slotted vs Drilled Rotors29 Oct 2004 20:51 GMT14
I'm upgrading the brakes and rotors. Are there any significant
differences between slotted and drilled rotors? I suspect performance is the
same, but I haven't found any information stating one way or the other.

American Collectors Insurance question.28 Oct 2004 19:24 GMT13
American Collectors Insurance, does anyone have a good or bad feeling about
their worth. I was quoted a price of about 25% of what my insurance company
is charging me now for my 1972. Very nearly the same coverage, based out of
Cherry Hill NJ, the NJ is almost enough to scare me ...

wheel bearings28 Oct 2004 07:42 GMT2
We have a 1978  corvette that we are replacing the rear wheel bearings.. The
question is : on the spindle shaft there is a ridge that the bearing should
pass over,is there a shim or spacer  that goes between them? My haynes book
does not show the ridge.
Rader detector27 Oct 2004 15:45 GMT5
Hi I use an LRC10 laser jammer ( Ido not know if you have this model in the
US ), it needs to be placed as near to the front number plate, as possible
as this is where the police aim their radar guns.
On my newly acquired 2001 corvette it all seams to be one piece at the nose
C4 Trie Size change26 Oct 2004 17:07 GMT8
I'm in the process of tire shopping & I came across a set of Pirelli's but
they don't make 275/40/17. They have them in 285/40/17 instead. I checked
the difference in calculations and it gives about 1.5 %. I was wondering if
this would be fine, or if any one of you's already did ...
'04 speaker replacement26 Oct 2004 04:36 GMT13
The same dealer that put a small hole in my rocker panel is going to replace
my speakers.
I'd rather not even let them see my car again, but they have to fix the
rocker and at same time they are going to replace two blown/crackly
OT Political Joke26 Oct 2004 01:28 GMT2
Subject: YOU A DEMOCRAT? OR REPUBLICAN?
"You a Democrat or Republican?" asked the old man.
"Republican," I replied.
"Well, you can just go to Hell," yelled the old man as he sped off.
1987 Power antenae problem25 Oct 2004 23:27 GMT23
Last week I pulled into my garage and turned off my '87 coupe.  The power
antenae motor was running, trying to put the antenae back down, but it was
not going down.   I gave it a push, it went down, and the motor quit
running.  I forgot about it until yesterday, when I started the ...
