New Corvette Price.31 Jan 2005 20:36 GMT17
Using the GM web site,  I notice lots of NEW Corvettes around but most are in
the 52000/53000 dollar range.  I am really looking for a stripper or basic
Corvette with no options which lists for around $45000.
Is anyone giving any discounts on these?  What is a good price for a new

Driving Corvette all year 'round?31 Jan 2005 02:58 GMT7
Many Corvette owner seem to use the beauty just as a summer's toy,
having a "real" car for wintertime. Is there a problem driving a
Corvette in winter? Winter tires not available or too expensive? Too
powerful and uncontrollable on snowy or icey roads? The body is still

header / intake carburation question29 Jan 2005 18:08 GMT1
I was watching the Barret-Jackson auction last night. Saw a 1961 Chrysler
300 G sold. It had (twin) carbs monted as wide as possible in the engine
bay - pretty much on each wheel arch. Then there were long, long, long
intake runners. They looked like the horns of a water-buffalo.
matching #'s28 Jan 2005 18:51 GMT6
I was at a web site the other day that explained matching and told where all
the numbers were located.  I somehow misplaced the URL and can't find it
again.  Would anyone know of a web sight like this?
TIA
Interior color scheme for silver/green 82 Corvette28 Jan 2005 13:00 GMT2
I picked up an 82 Corvette to restore for my driving
pleasure.  I've completed most of the mechanical and
body work.  I've chosen to stay with the silver/green
exterior and silver/green interior.  It is not the
C4 Spark Plug Gap27 Jan 2005 21:05 GMT4
What do you gap your plugs at.  The Haynes manual says .050.  I called the dealer and talked with a mechanic and he said to gap them at .040.  When I pulled the plugs, the old plugs were gapped around .068.  From what I assume, the old plug gap widens as they get worn.  Well I ...
24# Injectors27 Jan 2005 15:08 GMT2
Looking to get new injectors for my '85 Vette, and have heard alot of
people recommend the Ford 24# injectors over the Accels and others. Called
Summit to order, and the guy said that the rail may need to be slightly
modified, but I have never heard of this before.

Hatch relay keeps clicking26 Jan 2005 15:48 GMT4
I have an 84 vette and I had to pull the relay out for the hatch release.
When it is plugged in, it keeps clicking. Is it the relay, the switch being
stuck, or maybe something else?
Any advice appreciated.

Opinions about coming out of hibernation25 Jan 2005 21:45 GMT7
The roads here got dry enough yesterday to take the 'Vette out of the
garage.  I hadn't driven it in about 2 months.  It started right up, but as
I let the clutch out, it didn't want to move.  I thought the emergency brake
might have been set, but I engaged it and disengaged it, ...
