77 luggage rack23 May 2005 11:10 GMT1
I have a '77 with a luggage rack on the back deck. I'd like to remove it for
re-chroming but I've heard that if I unscrew the fasteners that the nuts
will fall off underneath and are not accessible without removing the gas
tank.
C4 needs shocks - recommendations??23 May 2005 03:42 GMT17
My 87 coupe just turned 70K miles and needs new shocks. It has the Z52 (not
Z51) package. It has what I believe are the original Delco-Bilstein shocks.
Fuguring that there are others who've put new shocks on their C4 this
season, I thought I'd troll to see what recommendations are ...

My Chevrolet dealer told me that Chevrolet is working on a new DVD for
the useless present navigation system on the 2005 Corvette.

hail22 May 2005 17:45 GMT8
First off, I'm NOT a vette owner but having just gone thru a hail
storm yesterday in Texas, I wondered if the hail (pea size) would hurt
(make pock marks) in the newer corvette bodies if parked in an open
area?  Are vettes still fiberglass bodies?
85 to 92 Corvette Question22 May 2005 17:38 GMT8
I haven't owned a Corvette in almost 30 years (my last one was a '71
big block) so I am out of touch with the major changes.  I am thinking
of trying to recapture my lost youth by getting a used 'vette
convertible.  The 1985 to 1992 models seem to be in the price range I

'87 Shop/Service Manual20 May 2005 23:58 GMT6
I'm looking for the "best" shop manual or manuals for an '87 coupe. Opinions
or suggestions appreciated. TIA

Parking Brake20 May 2005 19:39 GMT1
The 6 spd 99 I just bought has very little parking brake grab. The previous
owner gave me receipts that show that the brakes were replaced 15K miles
ago. I've gone to a few forums that have varying information. One talks
about pulling up on the handle with the button depressed 5 ...
funky windsheid wiper motor on '9720 May 2005 03:22 GMT4
A friend of mine has this problem, of his wipers comin' on at any random
time.. When It occurred (at a car wash,)  since then they come on at
anytime. Maybe a light tap of the motor ?   Anybody in the group have come
across this situation  before ?  Is there any fix for this...Now ...
C3 bent frame ?? question18 May 2005 02:59 GMT10
Have a urgent question about the C3 frame. I have a 79 here which has the
complete right side (were the 4 bodymounts are) sitting on average 1/2"
higher than the left side.  Cross measuring from one bodymount to the other
suggest the frame is still very much straight.
1992 Antifreeze17 May 2005 20:36 GMT2
My 1992 LT1 is due for an antifreeze change. I believe I read
somewhere that only the old style green antifreeze should be used in
pre-1994 cars. A dealer has told me I can use the newer Dex Cool. I
thought the article I read said that will attack my solder joints in
'94 Headlight gear bushings (R&R assembly or just motor)17 May 2005 05:28 GMT5
Anyone done the '94-up Headlight motor bushing upgrade?
I was just wondering from someone who has already done it
whether you R&R'd the whole assembly or just the motor?
One side has finally given up the ghost, the "gel" in the original must
Dumb Question17 May 2005 03:34 GMT1
Dumb question but can't find the answer in the manual.
Just got a 2004. How do you turn off the headlamps when they come on
automatically?

Don't know if you have seen this, but a nice idea for a new law. Get the
lane blockers out of the way.
