Tom in Missouri, need your thoughts25 Jan 2006 18:49 GMT17
An old fellow worker lost his life to cancer last year. Last night I
was talking to his son-in-law, also a fellow worker and Corvette
owner, that told me his widow was going to sell his 1954 Corvette. A
big surprise to both of us but the medical bills were killers also.
Is Consumer Reports a trustworthy source on the 2005 ?25 Jan 2006 16:27 GMT19
Just read the Used Buyers Guide of Consumer Reports ;  they say the 2005
Vette is not a good used car to get . They give the electrical system
and power accessories for a 2005 a total black mark.
If you have a 2005 , what troubles have you had with yours ?

69 Vette Engine Noise25 Jan 2006 05:41 GMT1
My 350/350 engine was rebuilt about 25,000 miles ago. The car runs well
without any loss of power. However, there is a slight tapping noise
coming from the engine. I've been told by several mechanics that the
noise is probably not serious. I've also been told by one or two people

C-5 wheel problem 24 Jan 2006 16:51 GMT2
Well, got a solution to my wheel problem.
I had a used 99 C-5. The rpevious owner had an aftermarket chrome job done
on OEM wheels. As I have a crack in the RR, I went to the dealer to try to
get a replacement. The dealer wanted $639, just for an aluminum one -

I am considering a used C5/LS1  to purchase and would like to know the
best motor mod.  for a 150 h.p. increase without going with a nitrous

If so,  who offers the package ?  Further,  will the rest of the
Removing the C3 Dash Pad20 Jan 2006 16:51 GMT3
I looked through some of the old forum messages and I did find some
messages discussing the removal of a C3 dash pad. But I'm still not
sure about the steps. So, could someone outline the steps for removig
the dash pad from a 69 Vette?
Changing Tire Size on 69 Vette20 Jan 2006 03:48 GMT2
I have been running 225, 70, R15 tires on my '69 vette since I could
get radials on the car. I've had some fender-rubbing problems in the
past, so I've decided to go to 215, 70, R15s. Until they wear out, I'll
have two 225's on the rear and new 215's on the front. I'll then go to
