68 corvette engine id09 Dec 2006 16:29 GMT2
I recently Inherited a 1968 Vette.  I was told it is very rare, and Im
trying to figure out exactly what I have. The motor is a 427 tri-power,
435 hp!  On the back of the block, the number is 3963512, this is a 69
engine code. In the middle of the block in the back is cast GM, and

My 05 with the Bose 6 CD changer XM radio -   does it play MP3's or was that
some special option to make it play MP3's?   I googled and I can't find out
anything about these stereos.
1981 Ignition09 Dec 2006 10:05 GMT4
I've started restoring my '81 which has been sat in a field on a Welsh
mountain for the last few years - so this will probably be the first of
many, many questions. Apologies in advance...
A fresh battery has given me working lights, wipers, electric seats,
C5 weatherstripping06 Dec 2006 16:36 GMT1
My 2000 C5 coupe is just past 50,000 miles, and the weatherstripping
where the rear of the left and right windows meet the removable top
looks like it isn't a very good seal.  The car also has some wind
noise.  (No surprise.)  I can buy replacement weatherstripping from

Beat Your Speeding Ticket and Beat the System04 Dec 2006 22:52 GMT16
If you think paying a $150 fine is the end of your worries, then this
must be your very first speeding ticket.
Paying the fine is only HALF the punishment.
Wait till you see your insurance rate increase by as much as 50%
C6: Strange tapping noise04 Dec 2006 21:16 GMT8
A minute or two after starting my '07 coupe almost every time (or
perhaps the first time of the day) I hear this tapping noise from the
rear passenger side quarter. When my wife first heard it, she said
that it sounded like a squirrel in the atic. It could also be
Synthetic Tranny Fluid04 Dec 2006 14:35 GMT1
Would it extend the transmission life by draining (or flushing) the old
transmission fluid and putting in synthetic. Is this a good idea at 100k +
miles? I understand flushing can break loose particles that can later cause
problems, but would draining it and putting synthetic fluid ...
Another prepurchase vette question04 Dec 2006 03:38 GMT5
I know this isn't usually advised but any opinions on buying an
extended warrantee on a new vette?  I know from reading on other new
cars, its usually ill advised unless you drive a lot.  Just wondered
if the vette was no different for this?  Any idea the general pricing
Before purchasing03 Dec 2006 22:14 GMT4
Is it fairly easy to rent a corvette (with regard to availability) for
a week or couple of days to get the feel of it before deciding to
purchase one?  I suppose the price isn't cheap but for the point of
this discussion I'll ignor that.
