2002 S-10 Rear Axles worn out in 50,000 miles31 Jul 2004 23:25 GMT3
I have a 2002 S-10 4-door pick up 4X4.  I have NEVER taken it off road, I
don't own a boat so it has NEVER been backed down a ramp into the water.
However, on two occasions the differential has been full of water.  The
first time, it was discovered when I took it in to the dealer to ...
Putting it in 4-wheel drive?31 Jul 2004 22:39 GMT7
I recently bought a 2001 Z71. The manual says when shifting from 2hi to
4Lo it's best to shift going 1 to 3 mph. Why? And you can shift from 2hi
to 4hi at any speed. It has the electronic transfer case.
I also own a 1989 Mazda B200i 4x4 with a manual transfer case. I would

4.3L V-6 vs. 4.8L V-8.31 Jul 2004 16:18 GMT14
My recent post regarding my bad experience with a series of early 1990's
4.3L V-6 engines has received replies from many others testifying that
their newer 4.3L V-6's are great engines. Since the 4.3L V-6 is the
standard engine in many GM vans and trucks, it would seem that the 4.3L
knocking and pinging31 Jul 2004 08:20 GMT8
I've got a 90 GMC with a 350tbi engine.  When I'm driving up inclines or
accelerating, I get a ping or knock.  To me it sounds like I've got bad gas,
but I've run several different tanks of gas and the problem persists.
Yesterday I got an error code 43 - knock found for 5 seconds.  ...

Transmission Trouble Can anyone help me? Thanks31 Jul 2004 02:27 GMT2
I have a 97 GMC with a 4L60E transmission behind a 350 engine. I noticed
a couple days ago when the transmission shifts into 4th there is a buzz
or moan when it does this, right before the converter locks.  The fluid
and filter was changed approx 2500 miles ago. I have a ...

Advice re: Buying 1990-1993 Jimmy/Blazer30 Jul 2004 20:33 GMT2
I am considering purchasing an early Jimmy/Blazer, and am hoping to get some
advice on what to look for, and what to avoid.
I have been searching for the 200 HP 4.3 (I definitely want a 6 cyl 4x4),
but I don't really know how to identify the motor (perhaps because I haven't
cat codes are back30 Jul 2004 16:39 GMT6
I am getting 0153 and 0420 codes pretty constantly now. The reader
indicates that these are pre and post cat sensors. The guy at the shop
said sometimes they can be cleaned. Anyone have any experience cleaning
the O2 sensors? Are they hard to pull out? If I am getting both codes
Help for  a S-10 Project Please30 Jul 2004 05:24 GMT5
Hello, me again. Cooked the computer brain on my 93 S-10 4.3. Long story with
a Dealership involved. So I got a carburator, and a vac advance distributor,
and I have a few Q for the folk in the know
1. Can I re-route my in-tank fuel pump to the fuse-box and continue to use it
1994 silverado rear seats30 Jul 2004 03:28 GMT4
I recently purchased this 1994 extended cab Silverado,  however it
doesn't have the owners manual.  I have been told that the rear seats
can fold down, but for the life of me cannot figure out how to do
this.
S10 Bellhousings30 Jul 2004 01:11 GMT4
I recently aquired a 2.5L out of an '88 S10 2wd.  My hopes are to
install it in a '55 Willys Jeep.  When I pulled the "Iron Duke" I
found the bellhousing was not the SBC bolt pattern.  I thought that
this motor used the same as a SBC.  Did this change at some point or
K1500 Fast Idle Pblm30 Jul 2004 00:40 GMT4
The truck is a 1992 K1500 w/ 4.3l v6 5sp manual.  The truck remains at
high idle (1900 RPM) even when it is warmed up.  If i shut the engine
off, then restart it (when parked, after a reasonable drive to warm it
up) I get a more normal idle speed of around 900 RPM.  This is odd.
