Removing glued on trim16 Sep 2004 20:17 GMT3
1996 GMC 1500 Sierra.
The plastic "chrome" trim above the rubber strip is discolored and looks
like, well you know, that brown toilet stuff.
What's the best way to remove the entire trim without pulling off the paint.
2004 Silverado Rack & Pinion: New Part Number.16 Sep 2004 18:50 GMT4
The rack and pinion assembly on my 2004 Silverado started leaking and
needed to be replaced at 6800 miles. While I wasn't particularly pleased
to discover this problem, the dealer couldn't have been more helpful:
Thursday Sept. 9, the dealer confirmed the problem and ordered the
Fuel Mileage?16 Sep 2004 15:36 GMT8
I just bought a 94 -1500 (350), 91000 miles, and the first tank only yielded
10.7 mpg.   Complete tune-up done the first day I received the truck, and
there aren't any noticeable leak
Any Ideas?
GMC Sierra wiring driving lights always on16 Sep 2004 09:46 GMT6
Has anyone wired their GMC so their driving lights come on automatically
when the headlights come on?  It's irritating having to push the button
every time.

help with a roaring noise16 Sep 2004 06:36 GMT9
I was wondering if I could get some help here. I have a 1997 Chevy Silverado
extended cab with a 350, automatic transmission, 140,000 miles. When I go
down the road it is making a roaring noise underneath. When I let off of the
gas it goes away, but comes back as soon as I ...

04 Silverado radio help16 Sep 2004 03:55 GMT4
Need some help with this one.  Have an 04 Silverado with AM/FM single
CD radio.  Want to upgrade it to a 6 disk one.  My radio only has one
wiring harness.  On the 6 disc ones, there are 2 wiring harnesses. The
truck does not have Onstar in it.  Does anyone know what I need to do
Head liner compatibility question.16 Sep 2004 01:57 GMT7
Would an after-market headliner described to work with "chevy pickup
and k5 blazers 79-87" work in a 1990 GMC Jimmy? I have the OEM
headliner from a 1985 K5 that I am thinking of matching up to my 1990
GMC Jimmy just to confirm in my head that they didn't change anything
1990 GMC Jimmy power windows. 16 Sep 2004 01:47 GMT1
I think my left one works about as well as I've ever seen. My right one
works a bit slower. Sometimes they need a little help to go ALL the way down
(about 1/4" to 1/2" sticking up).
I want both of them to work allot faster...
Spder gear wear16 Sep 2004 00:39 GMT2
I have a question that I havent found an answer for so far.
In the GM rears (95 tahoe, I believe its 7 5/8") what is the spec on play with the spider gears? I seem to have a lot, at least I
think so. I think its causing a thumping when the rear goes over a bump, and the drive line ...
Chevy S-10 Spark Plug hole repair16 Sep 2004 00:29 GMT3
Well... I did it.  Cross-threaded an aluminum head by misaligning my
number 4 spark plug.
Threads are damaged to a moderate degree.  I assume the threads towards
the bottom are fine.  I managed to crank in a new plug, I had no
Truck electrical question16 Sep 2004 00:18 GMT23
Truck quit on me on my way to work today.  I was back going within 5
mins, let me explain what happened.  This is a 2000 S-10.
All electrical systems in the truck power cycled, got all the start-up
idiot lights on the dash and everything.  Then, they all quit and the
Update on 1993 S-10 Blazer w/low oil pressure16 Sep 2004 00:04 GMT6
About a month back, I wrote about my W-code S-10 Blazer with very low oil
pressure. The shop was working on my intake manifold. During that work, a
piece of something (gasket, sealant, whatever) got down in the bottom end.
This caused a major loss of oil pressure, presumably from a ...
"Soft" Emergency Brake16 Sep 2004 00:03 GMT3
Ok, i have a NBS '99 Silverado and my wife has a OBS '99 Tahoe.
The emergency brake on her truck far better than mine. Is it because the
tahoe has drum rear breaks or is it just a design flaw.
Can i beef mine up?
Sierra 1500 20" wheels15 Sep 2004 23:56 GMT42
Does anyone have a 1500 with larger wheels on it?  Can you tell me what
the ride quality is like.  The only way I can tell is to buy $3,000
worth of wheels and tires to put it on the truck.  The only problem is,
after it's been bought I can't return it.
