My '88 K1500 Sportside has the 305cid TBI and currently has 258,000 mi. on it and runs really well. There is a puff of smoke at initial startup after sitting overnight, I figured it is probably valve guides. Not a real issue at this point in time.

| Diesel Mileage Question | 18 Oct 2004 22:12 GMT | 6 |
I am thinking of purchasing a 2004 Silverado 2500HD with the Duramax 6.6 and Allison trans. I hear the mileage I should expect is about 16-17 city and 19-20 highway (65-70mph) not towing. Towing is a whole new story - I wouldn't expect much more that 11. Most of my driving will ...

In 26 years of driving I've always been a Ford man with an occasional Chrysler product tossed in here and there. I recently rolled my Ford Ranger in the middle of MO. ( http://home.comcast.net/~jgibson1 ) While looking at a Dodge dakota the other day I was about to leave when ...

| Suspension Question | 18 Oct 2004 03:44 GMT | 14 |
I'm ready to drop my Ford Explorer like a bad habit and get myself a Chevy Tahoe. I've been wanting a Z71, but then that brings me to this question. I want the smoothest ride, and I'm confused at a few details of the LT and Z71 suspension. The LT says it has an "autoride" feature ...

My Silverado, 6.0, 4sp auto tranny for some reason won't start. The only visible thing wrong is the shift indicator (all digital) goes straight to the "2" and not park. It hasn't given any hints of trouble up till now and it has 20,000 plus miles. I know it's still a warranty issue, ...
